Character Ownage

It makes sense. TWD ended up being his Golden goose in every sense, brought him more success than he ever dreamed of and made him known as THE guy responsible for the most watched TV show on the air. I understand which one is gonna get more attention right now but I know Kirkman is talented enough to still blow people away with this final Invincible run.

I saw gladiator had a couple of excellent feats. If anybody needs them it's him.

I'm sure Scot posted these scans, but they're certainly worth a repost...

Superman:

_______________________________

I enjoyed this little arc a lot. It was basically "Multiversity 1.5".

Red Racer's feat was absolutely unreal, btw. The guy used his speed to compress time to the point where he built an entire receiver for the Ultima Thule(ie. MONITOR-tech)...from scratch...in the space of like 2 pages. It's hard to even grasp a feat of that magnitude. :/

Superman said all of the Supermen were equal and last week everyone said Superman was just as fast as this Superman. Why didn't one of the Supermen do this for Flash since they are more durable and could've survived the results?

...Plot?

Uh, read the words carefully next times.

And Superman powered up all the supermen with his power of hope?

Tbf the main IvX mini has been alright so far.

But yeah, I really think bringing the original 5 to the present was a bad idea, as it seems to have stuck as the status quo when it really should have ended.

I mean it sold well but that was more because it was pushed as the main X-title and Bendis, for all his flaws, is a recognisable and somewhat popular writer outside of the comic-internet bubble. But all it's done long term is push most of the young X-men characters to the sidelines to tell stories that by definition will go nowhere, to even more of an extent that superhero comics usually do.

Idk, for all the other bad decisions Marvel has made w/ X-men recently it just seems like the one that massively impacted the line in a pretty annoying way.

Although, the Inhumans push due to the Marvel/Fox stuff also really hasn't helped, as it's meant that there's very little impetus for Marvel to put A-list creators on the books.

I will predict: when it eventually ends and the original 5 go back, that will be the event that resurrects 'current' Jean or Xavier.

My brother is so pissed off at what the X titles have devolved into.

In other news, Batman flat-out says that the none of Justice League [WW, GLs, Aquaman and Cyborg] could stop Superman if he went bad, in this week's JL.

😂

Where's Flash 😠

Who's still standing from the original x-men? Scott, Jean, Charles are dead. Angel is lobotomized? And Hank was running around with Inhumans. Is Bobby dead? Not that anyone would care.

Hank and Bobby are both around normally, and yeah Angel is around as Archangel in some way.

Full disclosure, I haven't read the mini, and I've only been doing that thing I do where every so often i'll look at an X-Men comic to see how they're doing.

In practice and in theory, I think this whole "Terrigen Mist/Replacing Mutants with Inhumans because **** Fox" thing has been an absolute mess. Agents of Shield barely pulls it off, and they only do that by basically making them mutants and just calling them Inhumans.

The kids from the past thing, on reflection, could have been really, REALLY good, and made for some compelling stories. Instead, we got Cyclops acting like a whiney *****, Jean being a royal **** and outing Bobby without any kind of consequence, and the rest of the teens being a bunch of assholes instead of doing what they should have done and played up the drama aspect of things.

Looking at what I read, I'm now convinced that none of the people working on those books has actually read what Stan Lee wrote back in the day.

I wonder when others are around Thor if they feel this...

Yeah it's all been a bit of a mess tbh.

But yeah, the IvX stuff is a fairly decent and logical progression of all this Inhuman/Terrigen stuff, but more importantly it has Emma being actually important again which is good.

I honestly haven't enjoyed Emma as a character since AvX. She hasn't felt the same imo.
