So you think Bendis is trolling the fan base?
I think that he's teasing people with what they assumed he would do [split up Clark/Lois, ignore his son, retcon krypton's destruction], and in the end he won't do any of that.

It's why he chooses his words carefully in interviews when it comes to krypton's destruction, like saying that Rogol is only assumed to be responsible for krypton's exploding. As far as Lois/Jon go, he's said time and time again that people shouldn't jump to conclusions and it will be fine, but he likes to introduce uncertainty.

I will judge him when we're a few months into this, it's far too early to draw any conclusions.

After the carnage he wrought upon X-Men, I'm just going to assume the worst and hope he surprises me.

Pft, Philo giving Bendis the benefit of doubt of all people. Be a real Superman fan like Carver.

Trust me, I'm as worried as everybody, lol.

He could kill Superman in a year and replace him with Supergirl or something.

Nah.

It's Val Zod's time to shine.

Barack Obama Superman.

Bendis already said what he intends to do

But I thought he is only doing 6 Superman issues and he is out
How much damage can he do?

He is the writer of both Superman and Action Comics [after the Man of Steel mini is finished] for the next....I'd say, 4-5 years.

The next half a decade is all Bendis.

So yeah.

It's like they want to piss people off.

I don't like this "you can't pick your flavor".

I mean, imagine Bendis on one book and Morrison on the other.

Yeah. It's really dodgy letting one person be the only writer of such a tentpole character. I don't expect that Justice League book to last either.

Snyder's JLA will sell. I expect him to stay for a few years, too. But Superman will mostly take a back seat as 'just one member'.

If Bendis turns out bad, well...there's nothing of Superman to read.

*Be me
*wake up refreshed and ready to debate
*Go to ownage thread to see what's new
*Wolverine getting a completely unnecessary power
*Bendis about to shit on Superman hardcore
*A Guardians of the Galaxy team formed from Asguardians
*Black panther still in space reigning in his space empire
*First Black Panther essentially leads a team of skyfathers
*Feelsgoodman.jpg

All is right in the world.

I was never the hugest fan of Rebirth, but I did feel like it was a step up from the tail-end of the New 52 stuff. I expect Bendis's run on Superman to be like Chuck Austen's, but without any redeeming features. Yeah, I said it.

Not a huge fan of Snyder either, but that's me.

i like snyder a lot, though metal.... i do like some of the ideas that sprang from metal, but the actual series itself was pretty turrible.

Snyder is good on single characters, although I was underwhelmed by his Superman Unchained.

He shit the bed as far as teams are concerned, until now.

He also has an annoying obsession with 'mysteries' and 'things aren't they way you thought they were'. You can see it in literally all of his work. And Justice League started exactly like that.

Sounds corny af, but...

I smell Angela and the Warriors 3. Add in some Thori.

i thought unchained was actually really good, at least the chunk of it i read. you're right about his mystery obsession, but that sh!t usually works for me. it's part of the reason i like him. thing is the build up rarely pays off, but that's the same with a lot of writers. i feel like if they hook you, they've mostly done their job even if the ending isn't as good as you might have hoped. imo stephen king is a master of that particular skill--awesome build up, usually terrible or underwhelming endings.

*logan will have new "upgrades"
*supes started wearing his briefs outside again
*apparently the gems are scattered at different universes
*galactus was convinced by surfer to give up his upgrade of lifebringer soo that he could booty call surfer anytime he wants now.
*immortal hulk looked like some kind of rapist who likes it in the @rse

am i missing anything else?
