Nah.. The writers are just movie fanboys themselves and wouldn't dare to place their own creations above the main villain of Lucas. Unfortunately for the EU fans and the people who have agreed on countless of theories, this now means that their world is falling apart.
Fact is just that you can't fully grasp and judge exagurated power in the world of Star Wars and if it seems that stuff is contradicting itself, then we have to go with the official statement.
To go against Lucas or the creator of the comics and act as if you know SW better than them will get you nowhere..
It's not the fact that you know SW better than anyone, its just that people interpret things in different ways, as happens with all literature and media.
Authors have to face different fan interpretations everyday and i say shame on Mr.Lucas for getting agitated about it, instead of calmly saying "well thats a very interesting theory" like any autocratic writer would.
If someone feels that Revan is the best thing since Tony Blackburn, then they should be allowed to say that. If someone feels that Sidious is the greatest then by all means, you can say that. People should stop being so aggresive about certain characters and stop feeling attacked. If someone thinks that Revan is the greatest Sith Lord ever, then theres obviously a good, valid reason why they think that.
Of course, some might say, it would'nt help in Versus threads, but that just depends on opinion anyway.

So you don't have any problem whatsoever with him contradicting his self, other SW writers and their work, destroying your imagination, common sense and narrative traits?
Your just happen for him to dictate which parts of SW you can enjoy?
So your quite happy with him telling you're not allowed to make any of your own judgements on his work are you?
Now I'll try not to be offensive in any way but, what is wrong with you? Seriously. You came into these forums quoting books here and there word for word, yet is that the only level you appreciate SW? Quoting books?
Although that last remark had a bit of hyperfole infused with it as a result of your last post, I have genuinely heard Lucas shoot down one fans opinion at a convention where I was doing a journalism report for my Uni. at another exhibition (the guy said something about midi counts, only caught a few words) and Lucas' words were pretty sharp and harsh; "No, No thats the not the point of it etc. etc."
Now as I work in Borders (a large book superstore) on Oxford Street, London, part time, we get quite a few best selling authors doing Q&A sessions, in reply to an interpretations they are, on the whole, understanding, positive and interested.
See evidence, and it doesnt even come from a book.
This is what I am trying to say; Lucas does have all the right to change SW how he likes, but that doesn't stop him from having to jeapodise other forms of SW media with his changes, he should take care, listen to fan response even when it doesnt suit his agenda. It is fans that make SW the phenomenom it is, so he should just look interested in what people have to say, even if he doesnt mean it.
I congratulate Lightsnake for the wonderful defense. I'm a die hard fan of the Emperor and I'm pleased to see him defended so well. I think that he is the strongest Sith Lord ever and possibly, one of the strongest Force Users ever. Actually I haven't met stronger character than him! IMO he is stronger than Mace and even Yoda - some lines in ROTS novelization, I think, support this. Anakin COULD HAVE been more powerful, but was not. Luke... I heard that in NJO he is extremely strong, but I couldn't finish the series, so I'd not like to comment.
Ancienth Sith were definetly strong, but did not stun me as I expected from coversations here.
I have a question about one character from a young adult series, Jedi Prince. Haven't read the series, but is really Supreme Prophet Kadann so powerful? Does he really rivals Palpatine as stated in Star wars Wiki?
