Now??why did I go to the trouble of actually posting all this crap up? Because:
This story arc contains Spawn?s worst showings. EVER. I love the character like hell, but that doesn?t mean I?m going to call him omnipotent. I wanted you guys to see he CAN be beaten.
HOWEVER?these issues also show the kind of power a demon can possess. In the previous Second Age and First Age, Spawn destroyed legions of them when going to Hell (both times), and plenty during his stay on Earth. THAT Spawn would?ve had no problem dealing with these guys.
Issue #139:
Spawn is transported to the hospital in bad bad condition. The explosion had somehow changed Spawn into Al, and he was dying from the injuries. While he?s in the hospital recuperating, Nyx is doing something else.
She decides not to take Mammon?s offer, but to trick HIM. She decides to offer her power to another demon lord from Hell, in order to gain safe passage through Hell and back for herself and someone else. But in order for that to happen, she has to do something.
She uses the thread she took from Spawn?s cloak when she gave him back his power to sap/steal some of his power. Basically, she makes herself a much less powerful version of the symbiote.

This was IMO one of the best Spawn story arcs. Why? It?s not the fights, because there are very few. It?s the way the human mind works, and how it perceives and is influenced by its own hell. It?s about how evil works its way through any kind of net you have ready for it. And not to mention it has some kickass artwork, and the redeemer. And THAT is always a sure win 👆
