Meanwhile. Remember the two boys, the brothers from Alabama with the abusive brothers? Remember the older boy killed his father and then they went to NY to meet up with Spawn and bla bla bla? Well, after all that, they were put in foster homes, and the older boy in juvenile detention. He grew older and eventually got out. Now he?s on his way to Spawn again. But this time, as he shoots some people and then attempts to kill himself, Heaven chooses him to become the newest (and IMO coolest) REDEEMER.

What just happened? Spawn was instantly sent to Hell upon his death. Normally, he should have fit in perfectly as the new leader of the 8th layer of Hell. But he refused the throne. And as we?ll see later, Hell?s been in a state of utter chaos and madness (I mean more than usual 😛 )

Issue #118:

This issue is one big mesh of chaos. But if you read it a couple of times and get the facts right, you start to understand. Spawn is in Hell, dreaming, or rather having nightmares about what his life would have/could have/should have been. Meanwhile, we are shown by the author various previous Spawns that have died and returned to Hell in the past.

But the most important thing most likely would be Cog??and apparently a deal between him and Mammon. Mammon gives Cog the box he acquired from Japan. Cog kills himself.

I won?t post the dreams Spawn has, since that would be a bit pointless. It would only show his torment, and I think I?ve shown enough of that. Instead, I?m going to give you a few scans of what Cog is doing, followed by ????SPAWNS FROM THE PAAAAAAAST 😱

Issue #119:

The Redeemer follows Spawn and Cog to Hell, trying to make amends for sending Spawn there in the first place (This Redeemer is so goddamn cool). We learn that during Spawn?s absence (which was a long long time in Hell standards), Hell divided, armies fighting for the throne. The strongest army was led by Vile-Hater. That?s the Violator in Hell. Yep, him and his Phlebiac brothers. He?s pretty much the strongest most powerful demon in Hell. Spawn fights him. But he realizes this is HIS hell. HIS domain. So he starts drawing power from the realm itself and the battle??turns different. Spawn?s attacked by an entire army of demons??.so he calls his own very small but unbelievably powerful army to his side. All the past Hellspawn. All those before him. And the fight?..continues?

Issue #120:

Why is this issue extremely important? Because it marks the end (albeit quite sudden IMO) of the Second Age. Cog is revealed to be Cain, the first murderer. He uses the box, which contained ?a little bit of Heaven? to become the new ruler of Hell. My educated guess is that the box somehow contained a fragment of the power of creation that God wielded. Spawn is sent back to Earth, but he leaves the Redeemer behind in all the ensuing madness.
