Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the Great Wall of Text! Apparently written by Mojo Jojo :/

Seriously, its an adaptation. You win some, you lose some. There will always be someone to cry about something they didn't like. They changed this, they ruined that, I didn't like the way Batmans hair was 2 inches shorter than in the comics.

It was successful in depicting why he became Batman, why villains do what they do, and why he does what he does. That was the point, and it did it well.

Take some prozak before you blow a gasket, Jesus Christ.

I love you 😍

Cascador, it's actually a full hour into the first Spider-Man movie that we finally see him in costume.

With a movie like Harry Potter it would because many people such as myself had never heard of harry potter before it came out but thats not the case with Batman.he is an extremely popular character.no way does it do so well like it did without the well built in fan base it already had.well your thinking wrong.I just explained that people like children where not enthusiastic about it because there were already four batman movies that had been made so there was not that urge to go there like there was with 89.they could ALREADY pop in a vcr tape and see a batman movie when they wanted to.not so with batman 89.and comparing godzilla to batman is lame.godzilla is much more popular overseas that it is in the states.sure it dropped off,it didnt have the general audience members backing it like batman 89 did because it wasnt new like 89 was so the freshness wasnt there.I guarantee if the marketing had been there for that film like it was for batman 89,the box office totals would be much different.

by the way, what were you smoking when you watched batman 89? 😆 I thought that batman returns was the only one that made ludicrise statements like batman begins was boring. 😆 Batman Begins as knightfall pointed out had MUCH MUCH more action in it like a batman movie SHOULD have.batman 89 was a boring crapfest with just just a bunch of people standing around talking practically the whole tile for the first hour in a half with just a few minor action scenes here and there.what a a snoozefest of a movie.talk about BORING. 🙄 batman 89 was 10X more of a boring snoozefest than batman begins was.

You'd never heard of Harry potter? I pity you...

yeah really weird..I don't see what spider-man not being in the first hour of the film...has to do with this topic?

I think someone made a comment about Batman not being seen in the 1st hour f Begins... and you like Spiderman... so Mr Parker pointed out that hes not sen in the 1st hr of SM1

I like spider-man as much as batman...if you want to know where my priorities lie as a fan...then it's star wars

I guess I'm a bit mixed but overall I'm a Batman guy because my older brother passed on loads of comics to me from an early age so, yeah,m it's Batman for me... Casc, the Toxin quiz is sent

Yes, I totally agree. BATMAN BEGINS was TERRIBLE, and I am a BATMAN COMIC BOOK FAN. Batman relying on suits and gadgets to save the day BATMAN is the WORLD'S GREATEST "DETECTIVE" and is a BRILLIANT SCIENTIST and INVENTOR who builds I repeat "builds" his own stuff he doesn't go crying to Lucius Fox when he wants something like he's still 10yr. old Bruce Wayne. Frankly Bale's portrayal was much more JEAN PAUL VALLEY who seems to think it's the suit and gadgets and the machismo that makes BATMAN BATMAN. Of course I hold Nolan and Goyer responsible for that too. As a "true" Batman fan I will tell you, "That is a KILLER CROC." Ironically, JEAN PAUL VALLEY was trained in the mountains too. As if BATMAN BEGINS wasn't convuluted and contrived enough to begin with.
Also, they say they want this movie to be "real" (Sarcastically) O.K., "Batman lives in the real world?", Do you know how many things are wrong with that sentence? For anyone to imply that BATMAN or any of his FOES live in the "real" world needs a "reality" check. Also, since when do people in the "real" world get set on fire and survive a 6 to 7 story swan dive out of a window and not have a mark on them? "Why do we fall sir? So we can call our butlers' to come and pick us up." Or survive a car crash on the highway? "Real" is BATMAN murdering cops? Way to preserve Law and Order Bats. And of course the reason is "It was Rachel, she was dying." B.S. She's the lead female role, you're going to kill off you're lead female role 1hr and 30mins before the movie? And if BATS was so adamant about saving her, why waste time beating up thugs and trying to pull off a "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" jumping around scene? Why not throw some of those explosive powders Ra's/Ducard (whoever the hell it is) gave pointless explanation too? Oh right, I forgot. Bale's BATMAN is an idiot who relies on Lucius Fox to do everything for him. Frankly, would it have been the worst thing if she "did" die?
Plus, the whole theme of "Fear" is bashed over your head to the point where you feel like a LOONEY TUNES character. "Fear this" and "Fear that". All right I get it, Batman dresses like a bat to scare criminals. Whatever happened to those immortal words made famous by Bob Kane? "Criminals are a superstitious and cowardly lot." As a wise man once said "Themes are nice, but themes are for wallpaper." Clearly, BATMAN BEGINS has no structure. What's the theme in the next film? Laughter?
And then there's the endless expository and monotonus dialogue. How can this movie expect to be taken seriously with dialogue like this?

THOMAS WAYNE-"Don't be afraid Bruce."
RA'S/DUCARD-"Don't be afraid Bruce." 😕

HOMELESS GUY-"Nice Coat."
BATMAN-"Nice Coat." 😕

RICHARD EARLE-"Didn't you get the memo?"
LUCIUS FOX-"Didn't you get the memo?" 😕

RACHEL-"It's not who you are underneath..."
BATMAN-"It's not who I am underneath..." 😕

THOMAS WAYNE-"Why do we fall Bruce...?"
ALFRED-"Why do we fall sir...?" 😕

RA'S/DUCARD-"You never learned to mind your surroundings."
BATMAN-"You never learned to mind your surroundings." 😕
You get the point. If this movie is so "real", why does it have so much contrived writing?
What cracks me up is when people criticize me they usually repeat back to me exactly what I say, rather than saying something original, like a true BATMAN BEGINS fan.

I am greatful for one thing. Nolan, Goyer and Bale have killed my appetite for all things BATMAN, dashing my fascination with a guy who sacrifices himself to save others (Whether it's taking a bullet for a tourist family, unlike Bale who for some reason has a bulletproof suit but never gets shot. Crashing through a window to save Vicki Vale and getting her the hell out of danger rather than showing off to save some bugged out Mary Jane wannabe. Performing a kamakaze mission to save Gotham from being poisoned and looking like he'd been in a fight whereas Bale somehow manages to maintain his flawless complexion and perfect manicure even after he does get set on fire.)

Into a guy who sacrifices others to help himself (Killing cops. Crashing trains into public buildings and becoming BATMAN not because his parents died but because his girlfriend pulls a ZSA ZSA GABOR on him and says "Grow up and get a life."😉

Thank you Chris Nolan, David Goyer and Christian Bale. for destroying my hope in BATMAN; unlike Tim Burton, Norm Breyfogle, Denny O'Neill, Neil Adams, Steve Ditko, Dick Giordano and the brilliant Bruce Timm and Paul Dini who made me fall in love with the BATMAN UNIVERSE in the 1st place. Now I can save my money on future comics.

I too seek the means to fight injustice, and BATMAN BEGINS does a great injustice to who BATMAN "really" is. Saying that Batman is James Bond wannabe who's knowledge of chemistry and powers of deduction make Elle Woods look and sound like a freakin' rocket scientist who goes around kicking and screaming and pulling hair and dresses up in an S&M outfit has endured for over 60 years. 😠 🙁

I can go on and on, but rather than coming off like some BATMAN BEGINS fanatic who talks and talks I'll stop.

i dont get why every one sh!ting on BB they need the tank to make a point look at the first Batmobile i was VERY VERY ugly as foor every one no how he was made thats not true some who dont red comics could be like" so that how it started" so all in all i liked BB i was 1000000000000000000000 times btter than Batman and robin

Wow, you necro'd a 2 year old thread. Good work! 👆 😛

Well, to be fair, he DID bring up discuss-able points...

It's not like he bumped it for no reason...

All the wankers who didn't like this film three years ago, and STILL complain now - whatever. The critics really liked it, the public really warmed to the treatment, and we are going to get more of the same great stuff next month.
So go on and keep hatin'; direct your comments to the brick wall in the rear. 😛
I'll be up in the front row watching another great Batman movie.

He didnt murder anyone, Alfred even says nobody died.

I certainly hope that wasn't directed at me, cuz I didn't do anything...

Don't think it was at you Bat dude.

Just a general "Eff the haters" type of thing. 😛

Begins was an awesome reinvention, my opinion on the topic.

yeah dude your just a little bit late. 🙄 the people that knock Batman Begins are just jealous because its 10x's better than Batman 89.Like someone said, they can knock it all they can,but the majority of critics loved it and the fans who didn't like the Burton/Schumacher Batman films loved it as well.I guarantee you this guy is a friend of Batman Returns the thread starter of this thread, why else would an old dead thread from 3 years ago be dug up like this. 🙄 rhetorical question.
