You could make an argument for a GL beating almost anyway because how do you measure such things as will and imagination? In this case I think it's just a difference of raw power. Alan Scott as Sentinel has the full power of the Starheart which is all chaotic magical energy in the universe. The Guardians described it as absolute power which is why they sought to imprison it and plus it seemed much less dependent on willpower since it was internal power.
This is freaking awesome! I was unaware of some of it (I knew about the Starheart, but not the chaotic magical energy thing). Woot! Go Alan.

^^ Har!Alan really DOES need to cut loose, and lose the "wise mentor" role in the JSA. He could mess up some serious sh*t.

Wow. Even, say, Galactus can't beat Strange EASILY....so I think that's a bit of an overstatement....regardless of the OA Vs. Galen debate that happened earlier.

Well for one Galactus is always very weak when he's against Strange and he has his troubles with magic.Sentinel's powers are magical in nature so it would be different then big G vs strange,So no it's not an overstatement Sentinel is just that strong.Sentinel perhaps can take a fully fed Galactus at that.
Wow! Does anybody second that opinion? Ion?

Yeah, if you consider the most powerful hero to be a Silver Surfer type level. Theres not any actual skyfather+ level heros in either company. He was supposed to be Alan's own version of a Parallax/Ion type deal though not as powerful as those two.
What are Alan's best feats, besides the stalemating Ion/Parralx/whichever incident? Or is this theoretical power? I love Alan, and I want to believe this over-hyping of him, but I'm afraid without some sort of contextual evidence that he could approach Big G in terms of power I'll be forced to be skeptical. I haven't read nearly enough of his stuff, but he's certainly not lacking for appearences.
