exactly. other movies the moviegoers just go see it, but the matrix, the movie goers see it, and it just puts them in that world. it's worshipped, and also obsessed over. it's created a belief that some people 100% truly believe about humans and robots and people LOVE to put themselves in the world of the matrix. it also give people more of a reason to fight against the man.

They have created their own domain. They can break all rules, They can make new rules, they can Create new problems with ease.
That's what a Great Movie aspect is.

Hey John,I don't like the matrix either. The plot is too confusing to follow, all the flying makes me dizzy and the bright lights hurt my eyes! Whatt's the deal w/ the sunglasses?

I think you REALLY have to know how a computer works in order to understand the matrix.
Ever since the sequels came out,I've always said that it's unfair to compare them to the original.
Think about it,just what *was* the biggest revelation in The Matrix? It was the Matrix itself, the fact that people are wired in to this fantasy world was the biggest shocker in the storyline, and they had already given that away in the 1st movie. Not to mention the movie itself was IMMENSELY groundbreaking in terms of direction, concept, action, special effects, etc.
Reloaded and Revolutions in essence was just going to be the expansion of the story that was started in the 1st movie.Expecting the sequels to live up to the original was unreasonable.
And as others have said, the world of the Matrix is just that interesting.Let's take another trilogy like Lord of the Rings for example. All three are good movies, you sit down, you watch them.....and that's pretty much it.But with the Matrix, you sit down, you watch them, and you can go on and on dissecting it's mythology.
Let's not forget that the Matrix fell victim to a huge backlash either.Say what you will about the story or the acting or whatever. But for the Wachowskis to be nominated for a Razzie for "worst directing"? Uh,yeah.....sure.Why couldn't those people just walked up to the Wachowskis and just kicked them in the balls if they felt liked it? >=/ Really, like the freeway chase and the battle of zion directed themselves.
I agree with you beserk. The way people talked bullshit, etc about the Wachowski's was unecessary. If you watch any of the special footage of the making of all 3 movies you see that every scene and every little aspect of all 3 movies those two brothers were involved and supervised and made everyone do exactly what they wanted so they they would get the exact movie that they wanted to get. They worked their asses off to make these three movies so atleast give them credit for that, to have sat and worked on their life dream movie trology fr over 3 years.
I like the Matrix trilogy except for the endings of part 2 and 3. The cliffhanger involving Smith at the end of Reloaded was really annoying. Any suspected of that kind of sabotage should have been restrained or locked up.
As for Revolutions the ending was weird and vague and I didn't like how Neo sort of seemed to "surrender".
Once again i agree with you beserk. Its kinda fun reading all the disaproval posts because they say that they dont understand one thing or thought the ends were stupid and neo did this and he did that. I would go on for an hour and explain the whole trilogy but i dont exactly have an hour. :/ All i will say is that everything i n the movie has a purpose. Like smith says, everything has a purpose. The Train man served as the exitway for neo and the creator of the tran station. A place between the matrix and the real world where exiled programs come into the matrix from the source. The train man is the one who created it, so therefor he lives by his own rules down there. Neo gives up at the end of Revolutions because he was jacked in by the source. The source holds a smith anit-virus program. SO therefor in order to defeat smith once and for all (I.E. infect him with the antivirus) Neo had to be taken over by the smith virus so that the anti virus could be injected into the smith source from which it is copied onto peoples connections. Thats why he gave up. There is also a mathematical approach to it as well. When the orcale says that smith is Neo's opposite. Therefor if neo dies. Smith dies.
Whew now i can take a breather.
I think that most of them just associate the common S&M community with Matrix fans although not all marix fans are into S&M, Myelf for example. Just a normal guy with normal clothes and normal etc. People who are s&m dont all praise the matrix as a religeon. They just hapened to be in the movies so I suppose its all people have to put this on.
Sorry you were late into the thread Shwartz 😛.
I haven't come across many people whom I thought "worshipped" The Matrix. Star Wars, yes. Matrix no. There are those, like myself, who know the Matrix to be one huge parralell to the real world. The idea that no one truly knows any more than powerful entities want you to know is right on. The only difference is that in real life, the culprits are human, not computers. Whether or not you believe in secret societies, goverment conspiracy, shadow goverments etc, the fact remains that only chosen few really know what's going on.
