Why is "The Matrix" so worshiped?

Ha right on dwarf right on. I didn't mean it in a put-down kind of way. Im all for a good star trek conny even though i've never seen an episode before. The whole genre of sci-fi is pretty big though so to say one thing is more sci-fi than another...well, i dont know. Lol. Not a ig deal, Im gonna keep on truckin with my Matrix bandwagon just as you do with Star trek 🙂

I thought the first Matrix was awesome and it had soooo much potential for a good trilogy or atleast a sequel. The 2 movies they released were trash IMHO and ruined matrix for me.

Ehh? No, I disagree. Star Trek is far more Sci-fi than the Matrix. Yes, I said it. Star Trek is what the name suggest...space traveling and meeting different cultures. Is about diplomacy and unification and occasionaly warfare. Space Travel is what future generations want...and Star Trek is the perfect symbol of it.

Here is to more 30 years! *raises glass*

🙄 ..."The perfect symbol." Ok, if you say so. And you're gettting Star Trek confused with Star Wars. Star Wars has been around for 29 years, Star Trek has been around, what, 40 years?

Its more funny cause i heard star trek was only like 3 seasons long or something. But people have been worshipping it for like 30 years....now THERES some shit.

star trek (the original series) was 3 seasons long... next generation, deep space nine and voyager ran for 7 seasons each, and enterprise only ended a year or two ago after its fourth season...

not to mention all the books, movies and video games...

star wars isn't sci fi, never has been... 😬 its a fairytale set in space... a brilliant one (as far as the OT goes), but still one nonetheless...

the matrix is so worshipped because it allowed the so called mainstream population enter into the realm of scifi.which we established fans scoff at it because it is too over simplified.in short it is not a good movie at all.

That made very little sense to me......maybe it's just me...but yea. . .

I can't quite agree, it certainly fits the Sci-fi genre in big parts , different that Star Trek though....I suppose the Fantasy Elements are much stronger though.

i don't see much sci fi when i watch star wars... what parts are you referring to?

I would assume the entire plot and story line for one. Do you know any orphan jedi who is really the son of a sith lord....? Didn't think so.

THE MATRIX!

that doesnt make it sci fi...

ok the one, look at it like this sci-fi used to be classified as something for nerds or geeks to watch. everybody else would criticize us for watching it but they always wanted to watch as well but didn't want to be called a nerd or geek. but since the matrix is "cool" so to speak it allowed them to watch without feeling guilty. understand????????/
