Why is "The Matrix" so worshiped?

Started by Swanky-Tuna5 pages

I think it was popular because it was something new to people who have never watched an anime or read a comic book and/or because it was a live action anime.

I liked the first but the 2nd and 3rd only had a few interesting parts and was a little too "ReBoot"-ish for my movie likings.

In any society only a few chosen people will know whats really going on.
Oh and "Oh the first was good but the other two weren't very good" is becomming very old and Cliche. They were to finish the story of Neo, The One. Stop bitching about them because they didn't suck they were very good movies and they served their purposes.

Really? If they had left it at the first movie the story was told, finished... they didn't necessarily need the second and third imo...

In my experience, people who don't like the Matrtix generally do not understand it.

EXACTLY

No, if they left it at the first movie then it would have been POINTLESS. the entire point of the marix was to tell you the story of neo and how he becomes the one. Then you have reloaded where its neo's life story and the coices he is going to have to make. Then in revolutions you have the death of neo and the end of the story. Its telling you the story of neo's jounrey god damnit pay attention and think about what you say before you say it.

he became the one at the end of the first movie... it wasn't pointless imo...

ahem, don't presume to tell me what to do... i've watched all three movies multiple times, played the games and watched animatrix, i've even read several of the comics... 😉

I can't help it. After the first movie it felt finished to me. Neo became the one and defeated the agents of the matrix. Down with the machines and all that. I assumed he'd use his Franklin Richards-esque powers to seize the matrix and have everyone freed. He was The One afterall.

The next two movies seemed unnecessary and tacked on to extend the series like a bad expansion pack to a good computer game.

Sorta like the Sims, But back on topic lol. The first one did seem finished at the end, I'll give you that. But from the point of The where the war was. And the little speech he gives on the phone you can pretty much tell that there will be a sequel.

Granted the war wasn't over, but the speech on the phone didn't necessarily mean there would be a sequel, they could have left it up to the audiences imagination...

isn't the whole Neo dying thing what was left up to the audience? And it was completely butchered? So maybe leaving something up to an audtience isnt such a good idea...

As in, implying that audiences are pretty dumb on the whole? Judging by speculation about what would happen ion Revolutions based on Reloaded, I am inclined to agree, when it comes to the Matrix.

But, it's not about whether the film was good or bad; if you want that debate, go to the Matrix section.

The reason it was so worshipped is that it hurt the curve exactly on the right place on style, presentation, and being absolutley in-synch with the mindsets of a massive amount of people, especially the young, and especially oin question of your role in life and breaking free of the 'system'. The cool tech and bullet time/kung-fu stylisitcs added more to that.

All the ingredients were right. Hence, it was a success.

becouse of slowmotion

You know what they say, Slow-mo makes everything better....

Matrix is right where it shouldnt be ...between a cult saga and a ground breaking sci-fi action movie...
its standing on its two legs with a two buildings beneath

the first one was commercial and groundbreaking...

the second and the third one were a little less in both of the above but they had a spirit of there own with a deeper conclusion..

..only the ones that don't understand it are the ones that dont like it..

I thought the first movie was a 8/10. Reloaded maybe a 6/10. Revo 3/10 if that.

I think the series would of been better off not being a series. They could of made the first movie, ended there and been just fine.

As for all this BS about people who like it/don't like it are ___ fill in the blank. It's a freakin movie, jesus get over yourselves. Of course some people are going to like it and some aren't. We aren't all carbon copies, opinions are a good thing.

The story was more interesting then most and it had a style to it that was fun to watch. That's my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.

Um... I liked all of the movies.. they were to long though! But , yeah why would someone woship A MOVIE!? they are just dumbasses! sory! Oh and Why The F#*k do people likeb STAR TREK SO MUCH? my dad does and that's just weird!

I think they meant love Matrix, not worship, though I heard some do. 🤓 But anyways, about the Star Trek comment, I agree, Ash. And IMO they should have ended it at one.

Its more funny cause i heard star trek was only like 3 seasons long or something. But people have been worshipping it for like 30 years....now THERES some shit.

But then they had spin off BS like that Enterprise and stuff... apparently they've killed ff loads of guys now... anyway, my point is I understand the Matrix, it's just that the 2nd and 3rd really really sucked... it's worshipped because some people smoke a thing called POT

Ehh? No, I disagree. Star Trek is far more Sci-fi than the Matrix. Yes, I said it. Star Trek is what the name suggest...space traveling and meeting different cultures. Is about diplomacy and unification and occasionaly warfare. Space Travel is what future generations want...and Star Trek is the perfect symbol of it.

Here is to more 30 years! *raises glass*
