Darth Malak versus Darth Traya

On the surface of Malachor 5 (before its blown up...)

Well lets see what each has going for them...

Malak would try and close the distance seperating himself from Kreia and start wailing on her with his lightsaber. In a one on one lightsaber duel Malak definately has the "edge" (no pun(fun?) intended). However, this advantage would entail that Kreia is not successful in keeping him away from her. Kreia has the advantage in sheer force powers, and would be able to push Malak back and wail on him with force storm. Then again, Malak is also complimented on his strength with the force, and could always retaliate.

I would say Malak, if only because he is younger and "healthier."

Well, I haven't player either games because I don't have a Non-Generic OpenGL 1.4.0 driver, so I don't really know...

I'll Have to Say Malak, He was more of a challenge.

In any other circumstance, I'd say Malak...but I've heard about Kreia's powers, this "Instakill."

That should be left out. If she has it she wins.

Traya would dominate Malak.

The "insta-kill" turns out to be a maddeningly powerful Force Drain. I just recently starting playing that game again after leaving off on Telos, and passed the sequence yesterday. If you compare the animation of the attack to a Force Drain used in the game by a character, or as I just saw, Nihilus, they're exactly the same. It's logical to assume that after having the Force literally ripped out of them, the Jedi Masters would have been overwhelmed; that was, afterall, her intention, judging by the words spoken by her moments before.

That being said, I'd still hand this to Traya. While Malak is certainly no push-over, I just don't see him getting past Traya's ferocious Force onslaught; in this case, her "insta-kill" Force Drain.

They were more than just overwhelmed; if you check the bodies, they're dead AND devoid of the Force entirely.

The Jedi masters Traya did that instant kill to were nobodies compared to Malak. They had no advantage in force resitance or lightsaber ability. Whether Malak could or could not withstand it is unkown.

I would still have to hand it to the seven foot tall sith maurauder.

NOBODY could withstand it hence the name "Instakill".

That's what I mean; she intended to show them what the Exile felt, and the result -- the Force being torn from them -- was too much for them to handle.

I doubt it was a force drain. That's probably just the graphics engine. Unless force drain can't be blocked...

Traya wins because of her instakill. Without it, Malak would probably take her after a long fight.

I agree. Just another case of Obsidian getting lazy.

It could be a severe form of the power.

Where's your proof for that now?

In this scenario I have no proof other than show what malak has accomplished. Malak harnessed the energy of the star forge and stood his ground against Revan. The same can be said about the Exile and Traya, but I think Malak would have enough power to weaken the effect of Traya's force drain. Then he would close the ground seperating the two and wail on her with his lightsaber. I dont know the answer, I am just going with Malak because he is younger and healthier.

He had to keep draining the power from Jedi.

Well I think that IF Malak can close the distance, he wins this. I do not see Kreia as being especially strong with a lightsaber, so if Malak gets close to her, he can win

As for the force, Kreia would win this, but I am unsure if she would be able to prevent Malak from getting close to her. She was good yes, but so was Malak, and Malak (as shown in KotoR) is also good with the force and could probably shake off most of her powers.

I guess I am undecided

Malak gets tooled...

I'm not so sure really.. Kreia is more powerful but so is Malak. Malak is no weakling with the force, it wouldn't be easy to take him down using the force. Most force attacks can be blocked and those that can't? Kreia doesn't control them as well as people like the Exile or Nihilus so i'm not sure on how effective those would be.

Her force powers although heavily superior would perhaps fail against a Sith Lord like Malak who isn't weak with the force either. If Malak closes the distance then Kreia is dead.
