This is a temporary uncomfortable situation, which will end with my death or being let out and moving on to a different situation, either worse torture or something nicer.
Can´t really be compared with ETERNAL suffering in fire can it now.
On another angle, if this is hell by your definition then there´s a lot of people living in hell in this world. If this is so why wasn´t this earthly hell mentioned in the bible?

totally. I would not like to see evidence of Hell, as it says some pretty negative things about the remainder of eternity for me.
But I hear what you are saying. My thoughts are that science and religion are non-overlapping fields, so to me, not a big deal that Hell and miracles and stuff like that have no empirical evidence

Sort of by definition, once it's in nature it's no longer supernatural. Hell can still be a real (undiscovered) place and a symbol for human suffering/sin/evil. The two do not exclude one another.
