That's what I'm wondering. He sure looked old in that fight. Even though he said he wanted "give the fans what they want", I don't think he was intending for it to be that close.

Marquez didn't need to cry last night. He clearly beat Alvarado. I don't mind a Pacquiao vs. Marquez V and if Marquez want that fifth title so bad, he shouldn't mind it either.

What was up with Alvarado, though? He looked like he was too scared to let his hands go or something. Not what I expect from a blood-and-guts warrior. Strange! He didn't mind standing toe-to-toe with Rios but looked too shook against "old man" Marquez. Did the Provodnikov break him or something? Weird!

Who do you guys think are is the best counter puncher? if u can't pick just one, list a few.

Who do you think wins between Kovalev and Stevenson?

Double post since I didn't edit in time:

I think Kovalev should fight Chilemba next. It'd be interesting to see how he deals with a slick, awkward counter-puncher.

So Richard Schaefer and Floyd Mayweather have parted ways with Golden Boy. Can't wait to see how THIS plays out.

Canelo/Lara coming up in July!
Can't wait for this fight..
Winner might get Cotto next.

Robert Guerrero vs. Yoshihiro Kamegai was one heck of a match. Fight of the Year candidate for sure. That, along with Lucas Mattysse vs. John Molina. That's two for Showtime already.

I wonder how HBO is gonna top this? Terence Crawford vs. Yuriokis Gamboa should be an interesting match. Then there's Brandon Rios vs. Diego Chaves coming some time this year (hopefully soon).

Boxer are very strong persons

Well, I said Crawford vs. Gamboa should be an interesting fight...and surely enough, it was. Heck, I'd say it was even better than the Guerrero vs. Kamegai fight. This was technical AND entertaining, plus both boxers were undefeated.

Props to Crawford! He was behind on points but still managed to find a way to turn it around and KO Gamboa. New boxing star here!

Gamboa is going to need some serious rebuilding now. He didn't show any signs of ring rust but still, if he wants to make sure he doesn't lose again, then he first better stop with these long layoffs.

So disappointed with the Canelo-Lara match. Not the fight itself but that Lara was clearly robbed in that fight. Stuff like that pisses me off! This is the third Canelo fight with weird judging (the other two being the Trout and Mayweather fights).

Unlike the Mayweather-Maidana fight, this is a REAL controversy and one that needs an immediate rematch but unfortunately, Canelo is suppose to be Golden Boy's new cash cow and since he's the one who got the nod, they'll take it and run with it. Darn shame!

From what I undersand Canelo landed a bunch of body shots where Lana went more to the head. I only caught bits of it though. They also dinged lana for running away alot. The aggressor, even if he is coming out the worse for wear, usually gets the nod for pushing the fight I have noticed.

Lara made Lance Armstrong look bad in the fight with Canelo.
If he sat on his punch a little more he might of won. Popping the jab with occasional straight while running is not going to get you rounds.. Not win your opponent is stalking..

Canelo working the body is what won him the fight..

people really under rate body shots because they aren't as exciting as someone getting punched in the face, but they are a great way to weaken a boxer and are much more likely to be landed which will show up in the later rounds in the former of opponent fatigue and points on the score card.

Lara was boxing from the outside (not running) and all Canelo did was just follow him around. He didn't even cut off the ring and when he had Lara on the ropes, he just stood there and let Lara get away. Lara made Canelo fight his fight and even outlanded him too but I guess that doesn't matter if you're the new cash cow of the sport.

Geale got TKO in the 3rd. Golovkin is probably one the best Middleweight champs in last 10 years.

They make them hard in Russia! Golovkin had 250+ fights as a amateur before he went pro. I he's kazistaini, but, spent most of his fighting life in Russia.

Who the Heavyweight champ? He's Ukrainian...and he's bother is a Politician. Probably not now. It's a civil war now and the cause is the dictator Putin!

Maybe we'll see Golovkin vs. Cotto later this year.

That would be a good match up, though Golovkin has too much weaponry for Cotto. I think they're the same age? 32, 33

Yeah, they're around the same age. Still, not many people give Cotto much of a chance because he did beat a shot Martinez to get the title (though they have to give him credit for the KO because NOBODY thought he would get it). Golovkin is younger and fresher with a lot of power. This will be a more difficult fight for Cotto.

lol Mayweather is shot. He may have won and the fight wasn't as close as the first one (which doesn't surprise me), but he looks every bit like an old fighter now. He even admitted that he got hit with punches he shouldn't have been hit with. Maidana even buckled his knees at the end of the 3rd round.

At this point, I'm not surprised he got two more fights left. He's looking more vulnerable with each fight.

Lol at the twitter war between pacman and floyd...
