sometimes i wonder if Floyd is just holding out for an even bigger pay day. In my over-imaginative mind, i see TMT initiating some kind of WWE type storyline with Top Ran, in the background to maximize tickets an ppv sales. Dialogue being something like...
TMT - ok, Floyd is the obvious heel so we will really play that little angle.
TR - agreed. manny is the people's champ so we will promote his wholesome image. this will be great. we will hold out until the desired match reach fever pitch then we will engage.
Because i can't see why Floyd would duck. Anybody who knows one iota of boxing will agree Floyd will win by decision. i like manny more due to his more professional demeanor but Floyd's game plan is more solid imo.

But as of now, Manny has adjusted to a more orthodox style of boxing, due to losing his speed.
maybe Floyd saw that now... 5-6 years ago, he's afraid when Manny is in his "berserker" state, his defense can't put up to that...
Manny had a hard time knocking out/down Bradley who was agile enough to dodge most of his punches, and awfully hard time on Marquez who is a counter-puncher... and Floyd is Bradley and Marquez combined, and better!
i hope Manny sees this too, keep his cool, throw power punches and go into frenzy, if need be - to win the match...
Floyd is past his prime too. He struggled to beat Maidana in the first fight and even though he did better in the rematch, he still got caught shots he normally doesn't get hit with it. Make no mistake, Floyd isn't as fast he use to be too.
Unlike Maidana, Pacquiao has the hand speed and footwork to catch Floyd and the power to hurt him. Plus, unlike most of Floyd's opponents, Manny can hang the full 12 rounds with him. Couple that with the fact he's a southpaw (something Floyd has problems with and doesn't have much experience fighting) and it's hard to know if Floyd could beat Manny's style too.

Lol, that's not how boxing works. Marquez and Floyd are two different types of coutnerpunchers. When Marquez is in the ring, he'll engage with a certain bloodthirst after he counters. Floyd is the exact opposite, when he counters he slip, he slides and runs away. He'll throw in a couple light punches for points and then he'll evade.
Bradley in his second fight decided to sell his soul for punching power and went straight for the knockout. Literally the exact opposite mindset from Floyd again.
Neither of these two fighters use the philly shell defense which employs the shoulder roll. The shoulder roll neutralizes the right hand of a fighter but leaves him susceptible to the left hand as seen in the Judah fight. This never mattered in 40 of Floyd's fights because the opponent was a righty. In the 7 fights against a lefty only two had the hand speed Pacquiao has right now that can fully exploit this weakness and these are 2 of his hardest fights in his career.

He faced off against Algeiri and although he was able to get a lot of clean shots early, he couldn't knock him down at all. As we know Manny had 6 official knockdowns on Algieri.Lol, that's not how boxing works. Marquez and Floyd are two different types of coutnerpunchers. some interesting (and good) points here, specifically regarding the different type of counter-punch approach between marquez and floyd.
i think what we should note about Pacman judging from all his fights is how he can usually answer back in flurries. Normally a counter will halt the momentum but i've seen instances where Manny can walk right through with little regards. in this example...we see how JMM counters DID halt manny
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rqh6_XPN78I (the 6:26) mark.
but referring to Based's point, u can clearly see the style of counter JMM prefer and maybe he earned that extra degree of cautious from Pacqiauo. Good news if you are betting on pacman as Floyd does prefer more of a hit and run counter tactic. I suppose the question now is how hard and fast are these counters. ANyone who's been in the ring will know a quick hard counter will make you VERY cautious about initiating any future moves, lol, because it really does affect u psychologically. I will assume Mayweather punches ARE hard because there have been many testimonies regarding his deceptively hard punches (you can find some of them on youtube). The speed is apparent so no need to touch base there. Again will these single punch counters be enough to halt manny and make him switch his game plan? also, one of Floyd's most well known move is the pull-back counter but against a fighter who throws combinations casually, that will be very difficult to pull off. Another good news for those betting on paciquao. As far as defense go, yes Floyd's well known for his Philly Shell but let's not forget other aspect of his defense. his ducking, slipping and generally footwork has put opponents on edge and off balance 0n quite a few occassion
Khan needs to stop ducking Brook. They could have had this fight next but instead, he's gonna fight Chris Algieri? That's so messed up! Then he has the nerve to bash Brook for his fight against Jo Jo Dan. He really can't talk when he's fighting the same guy that got demolished by Pacquiao just months ago.
Not liking this from Khan at all. This fight needs to happen soon while they're still young and in their primes, otherwise, this is just blatant ducking because it's obvious Brook is the one who wants the fight. Khan is just spouting nonsense to avoid it.
