I change my location often - it usually says Brazil, as I am very keen on Latin America.
But don't Latin American countries kick ass?

I am in United Kingdom but my heritige is in Balkans. Mediteranian. My dad's haritage is little more south Eastern.

I was born in Latin America but my heritage is German. White.

No, I added another part in. Sorry about that.

And it's not because I am part of the "dominant race" because I live in a city where most of the occupants are different skin color then me....I simply don't find those words Offensive....Now if you called me, let's say Guido, or Guinea then I might be a little offended

*Eats bannanna and scratches ass*

Evolution at work, people. Enjoy the wonders of the future.

Not to me. I think it's just that the words don't sound spiteful enough to be taken seriously. They're more like, making fun, not insulting.

No, I think its the white comfort zone and not so much the words themselves that prevent you from getting offended.

"Spic" and "beaner" both sound pretty goofy, yet they are highly offensive.

My point: a goofy sounding word can be offensive, and in the case of whites its just knowing that they are white that prevents them from becoming offended.

Well, I'd know more about how I feel than you would, wouldn't I? If someone called me something that was actuall derogatory or offensive and insulting, I might care, just a little, before remembering that they're probably stupid before returning to my state of not giving a shit anymore. But that's not because "I'm white", it's because getting pissy over the words someone uses is stupid and a waste of time. Sticks and stones, and all that jazz.

Call a white person a Honkey and they'll probably just look at you blankly or maybe smile because the word sounds funny. Call them a Slave Trader, and they'll probably get pretty offended. Because one term is actually insulting and has an obvious meaning behind it, the other term is just silly and odd and sounds like it's describing a funny looking animal or a cute nickname rather than a racially insulting term.

I've known several white people who are descended from slavers, and they claim to be very ashamed of it.

I cant tell if they really are, or if they're just saying that to appear to not be racist. The one thing that is sure is that they attempt to distance themselves from it as far as possible.

As they should.

Why?

Being proud or ashamed is one thing, however, I do beleive that you should acknowledge your past.

They do acknowledge it, that's why they're ashamed.

Though, they shouldn't be, they had nothing to do with it.

Its true that they personally had nothing to do with, yet if slavery was never abolished who do you think would inherit the plantation? They would.

Irrelevant. Slavery was abolished, they don't support slavery, they didn't have anything to do with it, they can't control what their ancestors did, no reason to feel ashamed or guilty on their part.

Very true.

You contradicted yourself in your next post...You basically said yes Africa was trading slaves, but most of American slaves were slaves over in Africa.....So that obviously means "the white European assholes" as you so eloquently put it, didn't invent slavery...If in fact they brought slaves that were already slaves.

It was not like they arrived to Africa and discovered" Oh wow these guys are enslaving people, what a neat and creative concept so let's adopt it" If that's what you are trying to pull as an argument, good luck.
And furthermore we can even go further back in history to perhaps bc times and find slavery. European assholes as I indeed put it, they took that concept and scaled it on a national level. Their entire domestic/ export economy was based on it at one point. You chose the parts of my argument that pleases you and strengthens your position. That's not how a good debater operates, buddy!!!

No shit, vata. I was laughing at the audacity and the fact that he actually said that.

I was just stating the obvious and what most people think but again White America being so sensitive to everybodies feelings nowadays, so I figured I would get backlash for it, but "Oh well"

Yes and although two wrongs don't make a right, can you blame them for it? Think what other race has so forcefully and arrogantly imposed it's supremecy/imperialism as vehemently and savagely across an entire globe as much as white Europeans? The facts speak for themselves

I think the feeling a coloured person feels when they are being discriminated (By their colour) is nothing at all like the feeling a white person gets when we're being discriminating by our colour.

You sure do look like it. 😉
That was not intended to sound in any way racist. Just to clarify cause there are some pretty touchy people here in KMC. 😛

Ok, but Slavery was alive in Ancient Egypt...which is in Africa, not in Europe....So buddy, that to me says that "White european assholes" did not create Slavery.

And just now, you changed your whole agrument...I was simply stating "european assholes" did not create slavery, not changed the concept of it.
