Sora(Kingdom Hearts) vs Link(Legend of Zelda)

Narrative skill vs Apparent skill argument.

This is why I try to ignore the argument of 'skill' altogether and try to try only go off of quantifiable things that comprise what people often mean when they say skill.

That is, general speed, reflexes, hand-eye-coordination, balance etc.

One would have me believe that Goku is a great fighter, going by narrative skill, but I'm positive that without his powers he would lose to many people in pure hand to hand. His techniques just constantly leave him open going by apparent skill, he's pretty much a brawler. Yet narrative skill will have you believe he's some great tactician.

Being rather smarter than most people, I can accurately gauge how effective someone's skill is.

For instance, I see Sora swinging his keyblade as though it is a baseball bat, or Goku channeling Kirk and doublefist punching people, or Superman fighting like a punch-drunk brawler, and can then accurately assess that, narrators and other characters be damned, these people are not skilled, and in a versus forum should not be treated as such.

I will allow the occasional concession for the rule of cool however, like with the Shoryuken.

Or our human skills don't transition as well over to superhumans.

Like how DB characters appeared to demonstrate more skill in DB than in DBZ, before the massive power jump.

Sora would win. he defeated cloud in arena. cloud famously mentioned as link'r rival

Cloud and Link don't share a game, they are not 'rivals' anymore than Homer Simpson and David Hasslehoff are rivals.

What a ridiculous argument.

Hanaoka. Y u revive thread. Link would win.

I don't think the Keyblade can even compare to the Master Sword. And all of Link's gizmos and cunning on top of that?
GG Kingdomfegs.

Thread gets bumped at least once a month, people say their obligatory helloes and then it dies for another month.

Well there is a thread for just the Keyblade vs the Master Sword lol.

Granted Sora has fought people who use a bunch of weapons anyway.

None with the diversity or dirty fighting that link brings.

How do DB characters demonstrate more skill again?

Was it the fact that Goku weaponizes Rock Paper Scissors?

Even though its clear Z Goku is more skilled, watching DB Goku appears more 'martial arts' in skill. The stronger, faster and more zipping movement they get the less it looks like martial arts.

Anyhow, what makes Link more skilled than Sora?
