I seriously can't see how anyone can expect Link to win, Sora has a vast range of abilities and spells at his disposal; in his different forms he is nigh unstoppable.

me and my friends were arguing about this for a while at school so i looked this up and figured id put my opinion in...ive played both games. i grew up on zelda and crushed both of the KH games. Sora might be a badass in KH but what you dont realize is that the developers made the enemies from other games like sephiroth and cloud bitches compared to their powers in the FF series. Lets face it KH is just a faggy game with a good story line, Disney sucks ass. Link is in another class altogether for over 15 years worth of games, hes gone on way more adventures(solo might i add, he didnt have a retarded dog and a duck with a speech impediment to save his sorry ass when he was in trouble) and has fought with enemies way more lethal than KH has to offer. If sora was put in a solo boss battle with any of the bosses Link killed, he'd get his ass handed to him. he wouldnt have his drives or trinity to rely on, and magic and summons can only last for so long. Just picture a fight with sora and volvolga(OoT fire temple), he wouldnt last 1 min. If Link and Sora would ever fight 1v1, Link would own, his narus love would make him invincible to all of sora attacks, and yes even tough it depletes most of his magic, one use is all he would need...once Link got ahold of that little bastard it would be over in less than 3 swings. Sora keyblade would be cut to pieces if he tried to dodge the blows and the outcome would still result with a dead little kid cut into pieces with Link walking away without breaking a sweat

Some proper grammar and that little paragraph would've been a good read.

Those are actually very valid points, though. Sora's drive forms rely on the appropriate partner being in the vicinity to activate, so the fact that it's Sora alone effectively cuts his battle prowess in half.
