Sora(Kingdom Hearts) vs Link(Legend of Zelda)

And even if he did, the only way something from said game could be considered usable is if it was made by the the same people or the creators said the character or what they can do in the game is canon or legit.

More to the point... all Link would get from Soul Calibur is some grapples? Something that he could most likely do anyhow?

Like i said, if link can get sora in a hold he'd have a major advantage

Link has a sword, I do not see the point in attempting a grapple.

The way i see it is sora's main advantage in this fight is his speed. Holding him down will take away his mobility and force him to fight in a way that he's unfamiliar with.

Would you honestly try to tackle someone who is swinging a sword at you? 😬 We are talking about fighting someone heavily armed with magic and stabby things. At no point in that fight will Link ever even consider tossing his sword aside and giving Sora a hug. The only way "holding him down" would ever come up in this fight is if they both get disarmed. And Sora can just magic his weapon back into his hand, so even then it wouldn't be very smart.

Link holds people down with his sheild hand and smacks them silly with his sword. Or he puts them in a chokehold with his legs then beats them with his sword. Or catches them in an arm-bar type hold and sends them flying with his sword.

Soul Caliber gives Link little to no advantage, so I don't really see the point of using it, especially given its non-canon nature.

It'd be so much easier to just use a Deku Nut to keep Sora from moving.

Urm, yeah. Link resorting to grappling an attacking Sora is like SumGai trying to grapple a charging quarterback.

Well no, it's more like two guys with swords deciding to wrestle. 😐

Used a quarterback for the movement speed and strength difference. And that if for some reason Link thought grabbing Sora in a sword-fight was a good idea then he'd be attempting to grab a sword attacking Sora = the charging part. :I

Directly charging someone with enough reaction time and striking speed to make you regret it is a silly move.

Also, depends on the Link.

I'm just saying that if link sees an opening like that, he's gonna take it. Also quartebacks are pretty whimpy.

But without using a sword his reactions wont save him. Unless his arms can tank Sora's Keyblade. /pointless grapple situation/

He can grab sora while he has the keyblade. Having a weapon didn't stop him from using those moves in SC.
And he's probably not gonna try to use them off the bat, but if sora leaves himself open then why wouldn't he try it.

If I was in a sword fight, unless something forces me to, the thought "how can I grab him?" would be pretty low on the list.

When you're in fight if you know something you use it.
Besides link's fighting history is mostly out smarting his enimies and catching them off gaurd rather than straight up being better than them. If link wins this fight it will be because he's smarter than sora not stronger or more skilled.
