No, it just shows Randy is getting great run support. Wins are the most overrated stat when concerning the quality of a pitcher. I find it beyond stupid that wins decide who wins Cy Young and not ERA and innings pitch which actually show the how good the pitcher has pitched, not how good the pitcher's offense or bullpen has been.

I just said im not saying Randy Johnson is Johan Santana or Johnson is better then another pitcher with less wins but a lower ERA. Im stating that Johnson gets run support now so what makes you think he wont get it in the playoffs, and I have already said that that ERA came mostly from earlier in the season, but now hes on somewhat of a tare and its coming at the right time.
Because the playoffs are different than regular season. Everything is turned on its head.
He might do well, he might not.
I think the telling feature of a pitcher and the Cy Young is combination of an good ERA, Wins, and Innings Pitched. If the guy has an ERA of 3.60, 22 wins and 4 losses....the guy should get the Cy Young over a guy who has an lower ERA but higher losses.

I agree with strangelove. Win/Loss Stat is not very telling in how good a pitcher is. You can't win with no offense. Just ask Roger Clemons.
I agree with you to a certain extent
In my book you should have atleast 16 wins or the most wins in your league to win a cy young on top of the good ERA but if someone has better numbers then that they should definitely get it.
Its a complete season I think 16 is reasonable
Damn Giants or D-Backs can't get a win. And we friggen lost two at of three to the Nats. face-plain
Hopefully we can sign Schmidt or Zito in the offseason, get a good 3rd basemen, and trade Burrell.
We should be better next year. We'll have Hamels all year, Victorino all year(the man is God) and hopefully some new pitchers.

yea you forgot about the fact that the mets lineup is AL worthy and no one in the NL can even come close to sort of lineup.

ha! Farnsworth throws 102 also, but his problem is that he cant find the strikezone. One time after his pitch, (the meter may have been broken) it read 104.
Farnsworth can throw 100+, but I've never seen him do it consistantly. Plus, as you said, he can't throw strikes, let alone place then on the corners like Zumaya does. Zumayas fastball is like a 2-seam also, so that makes it much harder to hit.
