They aren't refusing to trade Drabek. Amaro denied that rumor yesterday.

Plus, no matter what, the Phillies are already in position to get to/win a World Series.

I always thought he would be a perfect fit in the Blue Jays org.

We always needed a LF that could hit and for RBI's also.

Wait, you're actually a Blue Jays fan? I thought you were just a fan of Halladay.

But, yeah, with Holliday, the Cardinals are loaded, absolutely loaded. They have a great bench now, too.

No, I was a hardcore fan of the Blue Jays.

Biggest memories was the two WS's. The only problem is that I missed both endings, which is a shame because Carter's HR of Williams was one of the greatest.

Manny and David Ortiz are on the list.

Bottom line is baseball allowed it and so a lot of players did it. Including a lot of pitchers, just part of the game have to accept it.

No, it was actually banned already when they were tested for it, it just wasn't tested before that. But that's besides the fact, I wasn't saying they were on the list because I'm outraged, I was just letting people know.

As for my reaction, well, I'm not shocked, but I am a little surprised since Ortiz was so outspoken about it before today. He sure shut up quickly, though, since he's not talking about it anymore. People are calling for the Red Sox to be stripped of their titles, which I think is ridiculous.

No they shouldn't be stripped of their titles because at the time, it wasn't illegal. (I think)

But it does make the title a bit less significant.

Well, they never tested for it before this whole "scandal" broke, but...its been on record that it hasn't been allowed since as far back as 1991. But, alas, we don't know what the drug is that came up for Ortiz and Manny, so until that time, we don't have all the information about this positive test.

True.

I guess it proves why Ortiz is sucking air right now.

That, and well, I think he's five years older than what he says, haha.

He did a "Tony Batista"?

I like to call it "Miguel Tejaded."

Biggest trades of the day: Victor Martinez to the Red Sox and Peavy to the White Sox.

Big names didn't move

For the most part, yeah, but I consider Peavy a big name since he is a Cy-Young winner.

*Same goes for Cliff Lee, though he was moved before today.

Um yea they did. Halladay and Gonzo were the only 2 big names that might of moved that did not.

There were a lot of big deals today and in the past week though.

I thought Halladay would be moved but I'm not sure if I don't like the idea of him leaving or not.

The only problem I see is that when Vince Carter left, we got dick all. I rather have Halladay pitch another year and a half than get nothing.

But I don't know who they prospects were so I'm not to sure. Also, there is front management issues with an interim president so it could be the case that the GM wasn't making the final say if a deal should go through or not.

I think theres a good chance he goes bye bye at the winter meetings to avoid getting dick like happened with Johan

Its unfortunate, too, because his price has now dropped a little. The package it would take to get him was at its peak right before 4:01 today.

Yep it will be less in the off season and even less this time next year and then many many millions next off season. I dont think I could be a Toronto fan anymore werent they the ones that turned down Lincecum for Rios? or was that all BS?

No, I thought the Giants said no.

In hindsight, yes, if it was turned down by Toronto, it would be bad.
But at the time, Toronto had no hitters and they didn't needed Lincecum.

Rios has the tools to be an amazing player, but he could never get them going. He did a couple of years ago but not anymore. Also, Blue Jays problems have been stemmed from the lack of key hitting. They have the pitchers to compete just not the hitting.
