Good for the Jays. Get that salary of the payroll. But I thought they could trade him right?
Sort of. Once claimed (i still have not heard who yet) they have 3 days I think to trade him to that team or just let them take on his contract or they can pull him back off waivers and keep him. Should no one claim a player they can trade him to anyone or release them. So he isnt gone yet.

Kevin Youkilis got made to look like a baby, a moron, and a ***** all in a few seconds tonight by 20 year old Rick Porcello. Loved it.

Owner change? I've never heard that before.
Well, the team is owned by Rogers Corp. The owner died last year so the sons + family now run it. There's rumours saying that they might want to sell the team.
I don't think so because its a great marketing tool for the company. That's one of the reasons the team was bought.

He did not throw at him, but he did hit him. It was a 2seamer that ran in and got him. You could tell by his reaction he did not want to hit it. Then youk comes running out and Porcello was like um why the hell are you charging me, then youk throws his helmet at him like a girl and tries to tackle him, except Porcello grabs him and throws his little girl ass to the ground. Almost as good as when Ventura got put in a headlock and had his brains beat in by Nolan Ryan.

Is still my favorite.
I also find it funny that I rooted hard for the Red Sox to win a World Series when they couldn't win one for their life, but now that they've won I don't like them at all. I only root for them against the Yankees.
And LOL, Pedro tonight for the Phillies.

I knew about the owner dying, I had no idea the rest of the family wanted out, though.

Well, that's only a rumour. Nobody understands why the team is fire selling players when the plan was 2010, and why they didn't try to get anything for Rios.
Originally posted by SmasandianIt is a head scratcher, that's for sure. I mean, Rios was playing out of position in right field, hence him having the tag of "overpaid," but his contract is fine to most clubs if they really wanted to be honest.

Originally posted by SmasandianI'm not saying he's Mickey Mantle, don't get me wrong. But if he can bring his average back up to a point where its hovering around .300, added with him being in center, and taking into account that he's owed only 25 million for the next three years, its a headscratcher that they just let him go for nothing.
Meh, his contract was pretty big for a guy who hits around 15-20 HR's and less than 100 RBI's. Doesn't matter if he is CF.Not including the fact that he doesn't do anything in clutch situations and is a pretty dumb player.
