Time is nothing but a human concept. If there is such a thing as fate. It operates in a non tangile realm of existence. There is no pre-set fate for the end of the world. Unless, the world engages in nuclear exchange or an asteroid smashes into us. The world is not going to suddenly end.
Look, i enjoy conspiracy theories as much as the next person. You have to realize however, that 95% of ALL conspiracy theories are bullshit supported by fabricated evidence or no evidence at all. No second Earth is hiding in our solar system waiting to make a triumphant return on the year 2012. There are no such thing as humanoid reptilian people planning to enslave humanity. There are no shadow people preying on us from parallel realms. Aliens are not observing Earth from space trying to decide what to do with us. This stuff can be fun, but unless you are of stable and sane mind, just like drugs, you should not be allowed to take part.
The end of humanity is not upon us. There will be undeniable warning signs pointing towards the extinction of humanity, again, unless every super nation suddenly decides it would be cool to launch a few dozen tsar bombs on each other, the end of humanity is far away. If you believe in the Bible, The antichrist will come to power uniting the world as one followed by a long period of peace before armageddon. I havent noticed an antichrist ( well, maybe hilary clinton) or long periods of peace. Focus your energies on things that are real and not on reptilians. You might actually get something out of life other than an unrewarding fairytale
The end of the world is indeed nearer. We draw most of our energy from the Sun, rotating around on our Earth's axis, shedding light on all corners of the world. Since the survival of life on Earth is indeed dependent on the lifespan of our nearest star (the sun), and we know that a stars energy indeed dwindles over time, It would be safe to say that the end of the world as we know it is indeed closer and ever approaching. Not fast approaching by these terms, but approaching nontheless.
Many things can happen before this that can spell doom for Earth, but this is one sure-fire way for the Earth to end, and that is a supernova of our sun, and/or other stars in our galaxy that could have a significant impact upon our planet.
Global warming, pollution, disease, rot, famine, nuclear warfare, and Zeus casting a lightning bolt are some other subjective standpoints on how the Earth can or will end. I think nukes will kickstart the end and then disease and famine will take over and those who survive will start a new evolutionary stage for all species of Earth.
That's my theory 🙂 Pretty sound imo 😄

Our sun will not supernova. It's mass is too small. The Sun will become a red giant and burn the Earth to a cinder before shrinking into a white dwarf.

I honestly don't find it likely nukes are going to happen. So many people have been jam-packed with numerous different points made by singers, writers, artists and scientists that the "anti-nuclear" view is almost internalized into most people whose voice counts. Consequently, the exact same logic holds back the selling of Nuclear weapons to insane rulers that may use them...America, Russia, the rest of the UN and the rest of the nuclear powers on earth (if there are any) all agree that we're all in the nuclear soup-pot together, and that's why we won't blow each other up.
But ya know, here we are talking like we think we know something and we both know we're totally clueless! 😬

(I was going to post this in the Religion forum, but I felt it belonged here since it doesn't go into religion all that much)1) Take a look at all the natural disasters occuring at this moment. Over time they've been getting worse and worse.
2) Industrialization has been killing the Earth for the last 150 years (pollution, chopping down more trees than we need)
3) The Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012 AD. This signifies the start of a new age (either through spiritual or physical means, no one knows yet) and could very well be true (the sun's position correlates with the Galactic Equator, the center line of the Milky Way, on both that day and at the beginning of the Mayan calendar).
I'm not trying to relay this information in a pessimistc way, just to give knowledge about what's going on to everyone else.

1) Natural disasters happen all the time-- the ones that happen to us will always seem more important than the ones that happed a long time ago.
2) Yes, pollution is a problem, but as technology improves and greenhouse gas emissions decrease, global warming can be curbed.
(not a lost cause... do your part... insert your most current enviro-nut speech here...)
3) The end of a calendar designed by people who cut the hearts out of other people, and then offer them to their god has no effect on the end of the world, in whatever form it takes.
