FANBOYISM ALERT!!!
You fool. That's what he did.
Have you read the Maul Comics? HE KICKS THE CRAP OUT OF EVERYONE AND KILLS THEM. I'm no Maul fanboy. Ask anyone on this damn board.
Well then specify it to the comics next time! I thought you were making a statement about maul in general. And yes, I have read some of the Maul comics.
IF he has a rubber back bone, this means he can touch the back of his feet both ways forwards and backwards, twist his body at a 180 degree angle and touch his ankles at a vertical slant bending sideways. He can't move in two or three directions at once. He's a Humanoid. That's a physical impossibility.
According to the Cestus Deception, Kit can indeed move his body in two and three directions at once. Hence, he should be able to move his back right over in order to touch his foot backwards, and touch his ankles at a vertical angle bending sideways. I'm not sure about twisting his body at 180 degrees, though...
LOL! That's like me saying "Mauls a Sith and he has horns so that's why he could kill Kit!"
Horns are extremely different to an unlimited vertebra.
You don't have much more than the vertebrae.
Kit is muscular, like Maul, so he should be able to take a decent amount of hits. He is fast, as displayed in AOTC and Cestus Deception, and smart, also displayed in Cestus Deception, where he actually figured out a droids weakness just by seeing how it reacted to his moves. In general, he’s a great overall combatant.
Not to mention Maul is a Martial Artist. He probably has training dealing with rare foes.
Even so, Kit’s vertebrae allows him to move his body in so many different ways, I doubt Maul would know how to react to all his attacks. And whether or not Maul has been trained to face such foes is questionable.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only fighting form Maul uses is Teras Kasi. If you're going by how he was portrayed in TPM, then I suppose I could say kit is a martial artist too, because he was played by Ben Cooke.
Seeing as we've so evidence Kit has resistance, what if he doesn't even get a hit in? Maul is a Martial Artist. He could probably dodge Kit's punch and lay out a nice kick or jab.
I highly doubt Maul would be able to dodge all of Kit’s hits, considering Kit can move his body in so many different directions. In Cestus Deception, he was battling an array of Asajj’s mercenaries, and dispatched them with ease. Obi-Wan was desperately trying to keep up with him.
Kit probably isn't resistant to pain or damage, so when Maul comes in for the hits, Kit is feeling it.
Considering his large size and muscle bulge, Kit should be resistant to damage to a fair degree.
No! He isn't invincible! Maul's a Martial Artist. He's going to go to town on Kit. The second Kit dodged one of Maul's maneuvers, Maul would probably come back up with a boot to his face.
Kit was dodging attacks from every corner when he was fighting a group of mercenaries. He is extremely flexible. He dodged everything thrown at him. A boot to the face shouldn’t be too hard to dodge for Kit.
The back of their heads were touching their backs. They HAD unlimited vertebrae and Maul kicked their ass. He snapped one of their necks, too.
One of these creatures were shot and the other was killed on a ledge. I would like to see how Maul would fair with these creatures on the Tatooine desert.
Maul knows alot about unarmed Fighting. He's killed Jedi and has experience killing large groups of enemies. He's gone up against Sidious and he actually survived AND lasted longer.
Kit has had experience in fighting large groups of enemies too. Now, had Sidious’s intentions were to actually kill Darth Maul, he probably would have done so. And light saber combat has little to do with this fight.
That Iktotchi that read Maul's mind could only detect his thoughts and he died. Kit would sense Maul's deep dark emotions and it would probably injure him. Either that or Kit wouldn't even sense his emotions and then Kit wouldn't get another edge in the fight.
If anything, Kit wouldn’t be able to sense Maul’s emotion due to it being clouded by the dark side. Hence, he would continue the fight however he was going. It wouldn’t give him a disadvantage, it would only mean he misses out on gaining another advantage on Maul.
This is if Kit can even read Maul's emotions. If he does, he's going to get darkness that could possibly injure him or Maul may be clouded and he'll get nothing.
It is pretty much fact that the Sith are overconfident. Kit should know this regardless of detecting Maul’s emotions. If darkness clouds Maul’s emotions Kit should not be able to detect anything. If he picks up darkness he would not be injured by it. Remember, he only detects emotions. Iktochi must study their opponent’s thoughts and thus could be why the iktochi that did so injured himself. Kit has no need to study Maul’s emotion, for it comes to him naturally. He would merely detect Maul’s emotion through his tentacles, that is all.
No, see, you're placing Emotions and Reactions in the same category. Finding an elusive emotional pattern would most likely be an impossibility, seeing as Mauls mind is clouded and it's so dark, it could injure Kit like I mentioned earlier.
I fail to understand how Maul could hurt Kit by just his emotions. Read my previous post. Kit’s ability to sense how his opponent’s emotion reacts to his fighting style is not impossible, as it comes to him naturally. If Maul’s emotion was clouded by the dark side then his tentacles would simply not be able to pick anything up. It’s as simple as that.
Anyone who thinks taller people have an advantage over shorter people. They both have good things.
Anyone who thinks taller people have an advantage over shorter people…?
Of course it does. You lack experience.
What the hell are you on about? For all you know, I could be older than you!
No, now you're virtually trying to say that Tall people are always more muscular, faster and better. That's ridiculous. I said if I wanted to be a biased *******, I could say smaller people are quicker because they have more space to work with, they're more muscular because of the space dividends they have throughout their body and I could also say that Tall people would have difficulties hitting a shorter person or even hurting them.
That would be what I'd say If I was a biased moron.
I’m not saying that they are always more muscular, faster and better, I’m just speaking of taller people in general.
Of course he was caught between his attack! He wasn't fast enough to react or use his unlimited vertebrae to block it. Sidious was simply quicker and more skilled.
Let’s not go into this debate again. It has nothing to do with this fight.
Then cry here while I smash you. I don't care!
Naa.
Holy crap Kit was tall. He didnt look THAT tall compared to the others. He was about 3-4 inches taller than Saesee, who was 1.88 meters tall. Mace was the same height as Saesee. Kolar, apparently, was considerably shorter than both. www.starwars.com doesnt have an entry of Kolar's height, but according to Wikipedia, he's 1.71 meters tall.
Kit Fisto = 1.96 meters.
Mace Windu = 1.88 meters.
http://www.jedinet.com/prequels/news/newsimages27/kitmace.jpg ...?
Ok, the emotions wouldn't help Kit whatsoever. If he sensed Maul's emotions while fighting him he could tell if Maul was happy, sad, or angry. This isn't going to help.
As for the height issue, Kit being taller than Maul would not help at all. Being tall, or being short both have their advantages. They balance eachother out.
Well then specify it to the comics next time! I thought you were making a statement about maul in general. And yes, I have read some of the Maul comics.
I did, you just weren't listening.
According to the Cestus Deception, Kit can indeed move his body in two and three directions at once. Hence, he should be able to move his back right over in order to touch his foot backwards, and touch his ankles at a vertical angle bending sideways. I'm not sure about twisting his body at 180 degrees, though...
If he can do that, does he grow a second body or split his body in half, then? Because hitting someone at two directions at once would either be done by using both hands or splitting your body in half (Literally)
Horns are extremely different to an unlimited vertebra. You don't have much more than the vertebrae.
Don't you get it? Kit isn't invincible! He got owned by Sidious and his unlimited vertebrae didn't help him there! That's the ONLY argument you have now. Is the same damn feat. I won't reply to it anymore. Look a few pages back. You'll see what I told you there since you want to repeat yourself.
Kit is muscular, like Maul, so he should be able to take a decent amount of hits. He is fast, as displayed in AOTC and Cestus Deception, and smart, also displayed in Cestus Deception, where he actually figured out a droids weakness just by seeing how it reacted to his moves. It's a damn droid. Maul was kicking the living crap out of Droids in that comic with his bare fists and feet.
Zabrakians can naturally take pain and Maul is a Sith and they can take pain so he has x2 the Pain Immunity than a regular Zabrakian.
No, you're truly STUPID!
Maul knows Martial Arts CANONICALLY! Kit Fisto's ACTOR knows Martial Arts. Kit does not know Martial Arts, and Maul does.
By the way, the actor that portrays Maul happens to be a Martial Arts Champion. Y'know . . . Ray Park?
The actors skills are irrelevant. Now you're just drowning in your own fanboyism.
Maul is no mercenary! He's a bred killing machine! We've seen Maul fight opponents with unlimited vertebrae and he put them down like they were dogs. Not to mention, he has martial arts. He'd put Kit down.
Considering his large size and muscle bulge, Kit should be resistant to damage to a fair degree.
No, Maul has the build and strength to counter that. He could apply just as much damage as to the ratio of Kit being able to take pain.
Kit was dodging attacks from every corner when he was fighting a group of mercenaries. He is extremely flexible. He dodged everything thrown at him. A boot to the face shouldn’t be too hard to dodge for Kit.
And I repeat: A Mercenary is nothing compared to a Sith Assassin whom is bred to kill.
A boot to the face would be a difficult task for Kit to dodge.
One of these creatures were shot and the other was killed on a ledge. I would like to see how Maul would fair with these creatures on the Tatooine desert.
No, the second one, Maul single handedly flipped him over his back and broke his neck.
Kit has had experience in fighting large groups of enemies too. Now, had Sidious’s intentions were to actually kill Darth Maul, he probably would have done so. And light saber combat has little to do with this fight.
No, Maul would not have gone down as fast as Kit and Maul may have escaped. When Sith fight, they fight until someone gets seriously injured and Sidious couldn't manage to seriously injure Maul.
If anything, Kit wouldn’t be able to sense Maul’s emotion due to it being clouded by the dark side. Hence, he would continue the fight however he was going. It wouldn’t give him a disadvantage, it would only mean he misses out on gaining another advantage on Maul.
Him missing out gives Maul the edge he needs to put Kit to the floor.
You have no proof against the fact that Kit would not get hurt by naturally reading Maul's emotions. Absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence. The Iktotchi had the "Natural" ability to read minds and he died.
Overconfidence can be good at times, trust me.
No! You don't know his tentacles that much! If his tentacles naturally go through emotions and Kit can't control it, why would they stop at Maul? Is he special? No! They wouldn't stop! And Maul has sick and twisted, evil emotions that could hurt Kit's tentacles.
Anyone who thinks taller people have an advantage over shorter people…?
Yeah, they're retards.
What the hell are you on about? For all you know, I could be older than you!
No, you couldn't. Lol, trust me on that.
I’m not saying that they are always more muscular, faster and better, I’m just speaking of taller people in general.
Now you're being stereotypical. How are taller people always more muscular, faster and better than shorter people? That's so damn biased.
I bet if Kit was shorter, you'd be all over the fact that shorter is better.
Let’s not go into this debate again. It has nothing to do with this fight.
Why, you don't like hearing that your most favorite character got OWNED?!

Your logic on this is off, and I will explain why to you tomorrow. Basically only short people have the advantage of lack of height. If someone is tall, but slightly shorter then somebody else, in a fight he would gain no advantages whatsoever, and this is the case with Maul and Fisto.
I did, you just weren't listening.
No you didn’t. You stated Maul kicks everyone’s ass.
If he can do that, does he grow a second body or split his body in half, then? Because hitting someone at two directions at once would either be done by using both hands or splitting your body in half (Literally)
I’m only going by what’s stated in the Cestus Deception. I’m guessing it means something like, moving his lower torso left and his upper torso right at the same time or something.
I never said Kit was invincible you moron! An unlimited vertebra gives Kit a substantial advantage over Maul. As I’ve said a couple hundred times, it’s the ONLY argument I need! And there are plenty more. If you read my previous posts, Kit is muscular, fast and smart. Add the fact that he can sense emotions and thus an opponent’s uncertainty.
It's a damn droid. Maul was kicking the living crap out of Droids in that comic with his bare fists and feet.
It was not just a damn droid. It was in fact possibly the most deadly droid in its time. They don’t call it the Jedi Killer droid for nothing.
Zabrakians can naturally take pain and Maul is a Sith and they can take pain so he has x2 the Pain Immunity than a regular Zabrakian.
What the hell? I am aware that Zabrak can take pain, but what’s this about Sith??? Well, Kit’s a Jedi so he can take pain too!!!
No, you're truly STUPID!
Maul knows Martial Arts CANONICALLY! Kit Fisto's ACTOR knows Martial Arts. Kit does not know Martial Arts, and Maul does.
Because he doesn’t need to.
By the way, the actor that portrays Maul happens to be a Martial Arts Champion. Y'know . . . Ray Park?
And the actor who plays Kit Fisto happens to be a Martial Artist also! Ben Cooke! Who also played Anakin’s stunt double.
The actors skills are irrelevant. Now you're just drowning in your own fanboyism.
I never said they were. I was merely wondering if you were saying such things about Maul being a martial artist because of how he was portrayed in TPM.
Maul is no mercenary! He's a bred killing machine! We've seen Maul fight opponents with unlimited vertebrae and he put them down like they were dogs. Not to mention, he has martial arts. He'd put Kit
down.
And Kit is no ordinary opponent either. Maul may be a martial artist, but Kit has unlimited vertebrae. And these creatures with unlimited vertebrae you speak of... do you even know their name? Is there even any proof that they have unlimited vertebrae?
No, Maul has the build and strength to counter that. He could apply just as much damage as to the ratio of Kit being able to take pain.
Even so, Kit has the ability to dodge Maul’s attacks. Therefore, he doesn’t need to be as resilient to pain.
And I repeat: A Mercenary is nothing compared to a Sith Assassin whom is bred to kill.
I was merely using the mercenaries as an example of Kit’s powers. He was dodging moves from every corner in that fight.
A boot to the face would be a difficult task for Kit to dodge.
Yes, if he didn’t have unlimited vertebrae.
No, the second one, Maul single handedly flipped him over his back and broke his neck.
… on a ledge.
No, Maul would not have gone down as fast as Kit and Maul may have escaped. When Sith fight, they fight until someone gets seriously injured and Sidious couldn't manage to seriously injure Maul.
If it was a fight to the death, I assume Sidious would have finished him off in no time. The fact is, Sidious’s intentions were to not actually KILL Darth Maul, whereas in ROTS, he HAD TO kill Kit.
Him missing out gives Maul the edge he needs to put Kit to the floor.
How so? It merely means Kit can’t detect Maul’s emotions.
You have no proof against the fact that Kit would not get hurt by naturally reading Maul's emotions. Absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence. The Iktotchi had the "Natural" ability to read minds and he died.
And you have no proof as to saying a Nautolan’s tentacles can be harmed by detecting emotions. An Iktochi is EXTREMELY different to a Nautolan. It is unfair to compare them to each other. I am using common sense when I say tentacles can’t be harmed by detecting emotions.
Overconfidence can be good at times, trust me.
Yes, but it has been proved to be very rarely.
No! You don't know his tentacles that much! If his tentacles naturally go through emotions and Kit can't control it, why would they stop at Maul? Is he special? No! They wouldn't stop! And Maul has sick and twisted, evil emotions that could hurt Kit's tentacles.
I am saying that if Maul's mind is CLOUDED BY THE DARKSIDE, Kit's tentacles WOULD OBVIOUSLY NOT BE ABLE TO DETECT ANYTHING. Does that not make sense? There is no proof that Kit can be harmed by sensing emotion.
Why, you don't like hearing that your most favorite character got OWNED?!
No, I just can’t be screwed trying to prove my points to people who don’t listen.
It was not just a damn droid. It was in fact possibly the most deadly droid in its time. They don’t call it the Jedi Killer droid for nothing.
Possibly is not a definite. I guess when Maul beats the shit out of droids, it means nothing.
I never said they were. I was merely wondering if you were saying such things about Maul being a martial artist because of how he was portrayed in TPM.
The thing is, Maul is a martial artist. He knows Teräs Käsi, does Kit? I would think mastering unarmed combat would give someone a "substantial advantage" in a fight where the combatants are unarmed.
Even so, Kit has the ability to dodge Maul’s attacks. Therefore, he doesn’t need to be as resilient to pain.
Why would he be able to dodge all of Maul's attacks? If this was the case, Fisto should've dodged Sidious' attack, obviously by the looks of things (and the fact he's dead), he didn't.
And, while you could claim Sidious is superior in lightsaber combat, hence the slashing -- well considering Maul is superior in unarmed combat (I haven't heard Kit being a master unarmed fighter), the same thing could easily happen. Not to mention, Maul shows us a helluva' lot more agility than Sidious.
I was merely using the mercenaries as an example of Kit’s powers. He was dodging moves from every corner in that fight.
And Maul single-handedly tooled the Black Sun, and a Nightsister. Dodging attacks, while beating the piss out of everyone. And, the one cut that did hit Maul, he shook off as it were nothing, much like with the lightning done by Mighella.
I am saying that if Maul's mind is CLOUDED BY THE DARKSIDE, Kit's tentacles WOULD OBVIOUSLY NOT BE ABLE TO DETECT ANYTHING.
Yes, so why mention it? Reading minds and detecting emotions could fall under the same category. Seeing as how they both have to do with the mind. Thus, simply taking the fact reading a mind, is just that, and detecting emotions has to do with the mind. It's logical to say that Kit has a good chance of being harmed, maybe not even that much, but do you not see the connection?
Not to mention, though, that earlier (same post), you stated this:
Add the fact that he can sense emotions and thus an opponent’s uncertainty.
So, this "advantage" is thrown out the window anyways, seeing as you yourself just stated he wouldn't be able to detect jack.

I can assure you, the JK droid is nothing like the droids Maul had to face. This droid had a set of tentacles extending from virtually every point on its body, which could be used to cut an opponent or deliver a disabling charge. Unlike most other droids, the JK droid was extremely flexible (sound familiar?) and had enormous articulation of its tentacles. Due to the fact that it was a bio-droid, its life-support unit contained a creature known as the dashta sheel. Because these creatures were force-sensitive, they granted the droid some measure of precognitive abilities, thus making it a far greater combatant. Hence, the JK-droid basically makes mince meat out of the droids Maul faced.
The thing is, Maul is a martial artist. He knows Teräs Käsi, does Kit? I would think mastering unarmed combat would give someone a "substantial advantage" in a fight where the combatants are unarmed
And personally, I think an unlimited vertebra would give Kit a “substantial advantage” in a fight where combatants are unarmed also. Does Kit know Teras Kasi? No, but does Maul have UNLIMITED vertebrae?
Why would he be able to dodge all of Maul's attacks? If this was the case, Fisto should've dodged Sidious' attack, obviously by the looks of things (and the fact he's dead), he didn't.
He has the ability to dodge all of Maul’s attacks because he is EXTREMELY flexible, due to the fact that he has an unlimited vertebra. After spinning 360 degrees like he did, Kit had extremely little time to react to sidious’s blade. Thus could be why he did not dodge it. The other reason could also be because the film makers had absolutely no idea Kit had this ability. But, as the old saying goes; “just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist” or something like that….
Just because Maul is a martial artist does not make him the superior in unarmed fighting.
And Maul single-handedly tooled the Black Sun, and a Nightsister. Dodging attacks, while beating the piss out of everyone. And, the one cut that did hit Maul, he shook off as it were nothing, much like with the lightning done by Mighella.
And I’m very happy for Maul. Just because he “tooled” the black sun does not mean he is the victor of this fight. Kit tooled countless droids in the Geonosis Arena, an array of Asajj’s mercenaries, one of the deadliest droids in the galaxy, and has received a slash to the arm himself. Does that mean he should win? (to you guys?)
Reading thoughts and detecting emotions are extremely different to each other. Yes, they both have to do with the mind, but they are of different aspects of it. An Iktochi must study their opponent’s thoughts, whereas a Nautolan’s tentacles merely pick up signs of emotion. There is absolutely no proof as to whether tentacles can be harmed by emotion so I will assume nothing would happen.
So, this "advantage" is thrown out the window anyways, seeing as you yourself just stated he wouldn't be able to detect jack.
If Maul’s emotions are clouded by the dark side, then he wouldn’t be able to detect jack. If they are not, then he’d easily be able to pick up signs of emotion. Simple, really.

Wait. Okay let's stop for a second. Both are very strong in the force. That pretty much brings them onto even ground. So let's say they're basically human. Now, are you saying that a fully trained, advanced martial artist who has proven himself in unarmed combat time and time again does not have the advantage in unarmed combat as opposed to someone who's hand to hand combat skills are rather advanced, but never TRULY put to the test?
also, has anyone read the Star Wars Tales comics?? where a group of ppl (i guess sith) bring Maul back from the dead. and he fights Darth Vader. Maul kills all the clone troops Vader has with him by way of the force choke. then comes after Vader. its a really good story and battle. another story in the volume tells why Maul made the double lightsaber. cuz a jedi master he was sent to kill beat him with a stick!! im a fan of Darth Maul and the Star Wars Tales are great comics to read.
