Well, i figured Ace would know that... He's great at workin' angles.

Apparently Rich had his own counter-strike ideas.

He pressed the action and got KO'd.

It is certainly because of this fight that he should retire. It's blatantly obvious that his body just isn't reacting the same way it did years ago. Roy Jones Jr. is going through the same shit. Ali went through the same shit too.

You can't be the same guy at 40. It just doesn't happen. Time catches up with everyone.

Some of you misunderstand me. I have absolutely no qualms if he decides to retire, but I don't see a necessarily huge problem with this particular performance. Rich is a great fighter and had a good shot at beating Chuck even in Chuck's prime. Aside from the unfortunate glass chin, Chuck seemed to fair well. Well, that and the dumb decision to go on the offensive.

That was about as strange as George St Pierre showing up and pulling guard.

I do wonder at what point in the fight his hand got messed up. It may have affected his performance.

Then again, Rich broke his arm and still laid Chuck out.

Idk, he broke his foot too, though.

This performance absolutely reaffirms the fact that Liddell needs to retire. Even though he still has the KO power, he was visibly slower, in terms of movement speed and reflexes/reaction, his combinations weren't as crisp, and as stated multiple times before, his chin is absolutely decimated. Back in his prime, he would've taken that little awkward right hook from Rich and smiled. If anything, I think the fact that Chuck was winning that round says more about how Rich is lacking, rather than Chuck looking good. Put the '10 version of Chuck Liddell up against the Chuck of '04-'05 and see what would happen.

Also, lmao @ Rich Franklin having a good shot at beating prime Liddell. While Rich was fighting guys like Shamrock,Tanner, and Quarry, Chuck was knocking out guys like Overeem, Couture, Tito, and Babalu. Rich would have gotten owned.

Anyway, Chuck is done. I absolutely hate it, but we have to face facts. Time catches up with everyone.

Lawler vs. Babalu Wed.

He over committed on a punch and got KO'd.

This is the proper way to take a nap... I'm in the white shorts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fgm3skcVIls&feature=related

Yep. It's on Showtime right now.

I was surprised Babalu won what was, essentially, a stand up war with Lawler.

Yeah... Thought Babalu's wrestling was going to be the deciding factor.

Babalu has a pretty extensive muay thai background, but I was surprised as well by how well Babalu picked Lawler apart. Lawler was focusing too much on that one shot KO.

God dammit I'm gonna miss Chuck. 🙁

W/Cyborg's victory, Strikeforce's superiority over Dream continues.

Granted, Cyborg's win was an upset.

Nah. I never said Chuck was the same as he was before, but this fight wouldn't be seen so negatively without past string of losses. He looked a lot better than he has in a while. I hate to be "that guy", but I am going to be "that guy." I honestly feel he just got caught this time.

I'm not seeing your point here. Rich represents a different challenge and may have exposed Chuck earlier than Rampage did.

I said it before, but I think I've been misunderstood. I'm not defending Chuck and I haven't defended any of his other losses if I recall correctly. I just don't see his last fight as the reason for him to retire. That said, I've no problems with him retiring. I wouldn't be very disturbed either. I've no real feelings towards or against Chuck as a fighter to be honest.

Don't take Crocop's win away from me please. 🙁

Irrelevant post? What does that have to do with Babalu's muay thai background. You're trying to say that since he got TKO'd by Chuck, then it holds no water?

Regardless, great TKO win for Chuck.
