LOL @ the racial card being played.
Well not really. Anderson Silva, like Rampage, is Black. And Silva's defending an Asian man (Machida) who happens to fly the same flag as him. So if anything, he's playing the national card, not the race card. And normally I think its a petty sore loser's tactic, but in this case, Silva may actually have a legit gripe.

Yeah, nationality.

The judges definitely screwed Lyoto. And its sad but true; judge are always biased in some fashion, whether its MMA or the Olympics. Not only do they tend to judge along national lines (when they do slant the results, that is), but it also seems to apply to styles as well. Perhaps I'm wrong, but the UFC topdogs seem to be more partial to Western boxing and wrestling than the Eastern martial arts. Rampage is American, speaks English, a wrestler (something Americans are familiar with), and was in a summer blockbuster where he portrayed an iconic 80's character. These all may or may not have been factors that swayed the judges professional opinions.
The biggest "bias" we have in the west is our love of aggressive fighters. Aggressive fighters are usually seen as more entertaining by the mainstream and "better" by the fighting illiterate. I agree that our fighters tend towards boxing, wrestling, and I'd throw in kickboxing as well. Those are simply the most common styles at high levels in virtually all western nations. It's similar to how nearly every Japanese fighter has judo skills.

Machida was born and lives in Brazil. Yeah, he's Asian alright! He some Asian roots.

Just wanted to say that GSP will completly destroy Kos.
Koscheck needs to finish this early on or else I see a GSP victory via UD or submission in the 4th/5h. Kos should change angles and utilize the jab. No more crazy overhand rights from far away.
