His face hit the mat, then .2 seconds later, he bucked his hips and rolled his legs to try and defend the extra shots, and Herb jumped in the middle of them to stop it. At the very least, Herb should have taken an extra second or two to assess the situation better. Especially when you look at fights like Maynard/Edgar 2, Kongo/Barry, Lesnar/Carwin, etc. where the fights could have easily been stopped, but were allowed to continue only for much different results to occur.

It's one thing if a guy is completely out cold, or is just covering up with no attempt to better his position. Fedor wasn't unconscious, and he was able to roll to his back in order to attempt to defend the extra shots by the time Herb jumped in. Given the fact that it was probably Fedor's last fight of his career, he should have been given the benefit of the doubt of an extra second or two. For his career to end on an early stoppage like that is shitty.

Fedor rolled over flailed his arms around and Hendo was in half guard. Fedor was still not ready to fight and was going to get his shit pushed in.

Yes, that's definitely possible, but he wasn't finished. He got up as soon as Herb stopped the fight. Given the fact that it was likely the last time we'll ever see arguably the greatest mixed martial artist of all-time in a cage, he was owed a chance to defend/recover. Now, we can only speculate. I mean, who could have foreseen the ending to the Kongo/Barry fight?

Just go to 1m25s. Look at the knee that Fedor gets from Arona. Doesn't even fade him even though it hits him clean in the jaw. And we are talking about Arona, a guy who even though was not a stand up fighter, was known to be very powerful, having very heavy hands and one hell of a low kick.

So yeah, Fedor's chin used to be much better then it was vs Henderson, as good as an Henderson's uppercut may be. And I could bring other examples of Fedor's chin endurance, I just wanted to point out a similar situation (hard strike in the chi) from the past.

Bring all the examples you want to, Fedor could have been rocked by Hendo at any point in his career if he was hit with a clean shot.
