Goddamnit Diaz! He had to go and **** this up. After years of all this shit talking, GSP vs Diaz is off for the time being. Am I happy for a Condit vs GSP fight? Yes. Condit is the only other real threat left for GSP.

Did I want to see Diaz vs GSP as soon as possible? Yes.
I REALLY want to see Diaz get beat.

I think this card is better.

Condit vs GSP is a better fight, but not as interesting because Condit isn't a loud mouth who everyone wants to see get tuned up.

When was the last time GSP tuned someone up?

If you want to see Diaz get tuned up BJ is a better bet. I think Diaz could win against either guy though.

Koscheck?

He looked impressive in Strikeforce fighting cans and third rate UFC cast offs but Nick isn't a top ten fighter. The idea that he was about to get a title shot was almost laughable (not Dan Hardy laughable... but still pretty bad). If Diaz beats BJ at least he will have done something worth talking about, but right now it just looks like the only reason he got a title shot is because Dana is mining the bottom of the barrel for anyone not named Fitch.

I don't considering jabbing someone 5 rounds a tune up, but ok.

What other 10 ww are better than Nick? Nick not being a top ten ww is ridiculous.

Kicking someone's ass for five rounds and putting them out of commission for a year doesn't constitute a tune up in your books?

No particular order:

GSP
Fitch
Shields
Kos
BJ
Condit
Alves
Thiago
Kapmann
Diego

Maybe Ellenburger

It is when you break their orbital bone. I enjoyed the hell out of it. Turned Kos into this

Not when you know what tune up means and you watch the fight as a non-canadian.

You can't be serious with this list. Tell me you're trolling.

If you knew what tune up means, then you'd know that's what GSP did to Kos.

Dead serious. Diaz is as much a top ten fighter as Ben Askren. They both look good fighting UFC washouts and nobodies in Strikeforce and Bellator, but it takes more then that to be a contender in the UFC.

You have canadian syndrome, so I'll give you a pass.

The fact that you have 3 ppl who lost 2 of their last 3 fights above Nick tells me all I need to know.

Then you have BJ who's last WW win was over Hughes.

Thiago...lol.

Daley was a washout...then what is Kampmann?

Losing happens sometimes when you are fighting other top 10 contenders. Strikeforce WW division is like a vacation compared to the UFC.

BJ got a draw with Fitch and Dana said that as far as he was concerned BJ won the fight (even though BJ said he felt otherwise). Fitch would have human blanketed Diaz for 3 rounds with ease.

Kapmann is the guy who should have ended Shields win strike but UFC was setting him as a can and he got robbed in a decision that he clearly won. 😎

Concession accepted.

Ellenburger is gonna beat Shields' ass 2night.

Welcome to the UFC Shields. Strikeforce lmao

Well, his dad did just die.

I think he'd have lost regardless. He's not that great. He's lost 2 of his 3 UFC fights & they robbed Kampmann in the other one. He's gonna have more losses coming his way in the UFC & he'll NEVER be champ. Been saying it since he got there

Ditto

Being not that great and being koed in the first round are not the same thing.

Anyway, I think he should fight at MW.

True, but it's easier to get KOed that early if you're not that great 🙂

He's gonna get tuned up his next fight too unless they give him a tomato can.

Shields was a big fish in small pond, anyone who thought him moving into the UFC would result in anywhere near the success he had in Strikeforce was kidding themselves. Diaz is in store for the same thing. There is a reason they were in the little leagues and not the majors to begin with.

Other then GSP the WW division is pretty exciting right now with some nice up and comers. Maybe after two more boring defenses when GSP breaks Hughes record and cements himself as WW GOAT he will turn up the heat and actual start fighting people again, or move up to MW... either would be exciting.

Want to see Ellenberger vs Rory Macdonald.
