The Colts have done a better at stopping the run. Portis only ran for 43 yards and he is one of the best backs in the league. Maybe Dillion and the rookie can be shut down too.
I think New England will win, but I think if they do win, it aint Manning's fault, it will be the team's fault.
My prediction 31-28 for New England, with Vintenteri (sp) missing the game winning field goal, and goadgaojlakgasdlgkj kicking the game winning field goal with 0 seconds left. Thats my prediction.

I'm right there with the 31-28 prediction. Not sure about the Vinatieri miss, but that would be something else, wouldn't it?

well i dont know how long whatever he supposedly did stays in your system. Im not saying he didnt do it, but it is possible to have a false positive of some sort, and come back and take 3 new tests to show ur clean. Then people say why drop the appeal then? Well because he could get screwed worse missing some of the most important games of the year if he couldnt prove his case.

He tested dirty. There is nothing else.
I might be wrong, but he's reasoning for the appeal was that he didnt know that the stuff he took had steriods in it, but not that the test was wrong?
If thats the case, he's a moron for not looking up the ingredients in the pills, or look at the sheet that the NFL sends out that contains all the banned products.

While Parcells has used all his timeouts getting the 'Boys in scoring position, Dungy has mismanaged his timeouts. Both teams have zero.
From a coach's standpoint, what exactly do you call if you're Parcells?

Considering the play clock is 40 seconds, what is your gameplan? And to add a twist, do you tell your players to purposively not score on 1st and 2nd down? Lots of factors.
I think many coaches would run, throw, throw, and throw, which if you scored on 2nd down would leave Manning about 65 seconds to try to get a GW field goal. When you think about it, the decision might come down to this: Is the probability of scoring a TD on 2 plays (3rd and 4th down) greater than stopping Peyton Manning's team with over a minute to work with, or possibly even a minute and forty!
kneel it on first down. Run it up the middle on second down and "try" to score. if you don't score.. on third down u run a fade to T.O. with a TE going to the back of the end zone as a back up to the fade. Fourth down... u run a roll-out option with romo and marion barber with someone leaking into the end zone( preferably glenn or witten. i don't trust T.O. on fourth down after his drop on 4th and 2.) Never.. and i mean NEVER give peyton more than 45 seconds when they only need a field goal, because all he has to do is get the ball to around the 40 to give vinetari a chance to win the game, and even if the fg is 57 or 58 yards, vinetari will nail it.
i think you have to score as soon as you can, the redzone is a hard place to score there is less room to run around and easier for the D to clamp down. Never take for granted that you can score. Now on the colts side if we are talking about this years D Id say let them walk in on first down when they try to run it, give manning his full arsenal of time cause id have no faith in them being able to stop them from running it in.
That's a point about being on the defensive side of it that I thought about adding to it as well. I would just rather give up the TD (despite the critics) and give my offense more time to work with rather than having to throw hail mary's with 20 seconds left after the other team finally crossed the goal line on fourth down.
Panthers got burned by leaving Brady too much time in Super Bowl XXXVIII. It's a sensitive issue because you'd never want to "take off" potential points, but the thought of the other team's drive has gotta be lurking in the back eof your mind when you score with 90+ seconds left.
Score as soon as possible. That's my reasoning. Let them try to beat you.
But it depends on how well the Boy's defense is playing. If the points were scored on them in the start of the game, but they have stopped them consistenly in the second half, then let the defense try to keep the game. If the other way around, then maybe try to whittle down the clock a bit.
My understanding is that you always try to score in the 2 minute period. You never know what might happened near the 20 second mark especially against the Colts. What could happen is that they hand it over to Barber and gets 2 yards on two carries. On third down, using the play to take down the play clock, you would roughly have to about 30 seconds or so. So what happens if you have to pass to either stop the clock or get the TD and you get sacked...they're goes 10 seconds just to get the ball back. So you have roughly 10 seconds to get the last play in, and because everybody is rushing everywhere to get into to place, the offense will probably screw up.
I say go get the TD and hope your defense shuts Manning down.
