Something's fishy.
He gets interviewed by how many teams for the head coach position, then gets turned down by the Cowboys, and then gets released by the Bears (end of contract) as defensive coordinator, and then gets hired as an linebackers coach. What the hell? Is something wrong?
Personally, I dont really care if Rivera gets hired as linebackers coach. The defense is already great but losing Phillips is going to hurt.
The pats franchising Samual is surpraising but if you think about it, who else would replace him. Thier secondary is already weak, and losing thier best CB would be a bad move.
Maybe, the major reason Turner got hired is because of Rivers. Turner is very good in making good QB's and just one year in San Fran did wonders for Alex Smith.
Maybe thats the reason.
It's the same reason why Phillips was hired for Dallas. It was because he is like the granddaddy of 3-4 defenses and thats the main reason why he was hired, to fix the defense. It would be interesting to see how well the Dallas defense plays.

Maybe, but I doubt if the chargers will win a lot of games.

Why not?Coaches make a difference, but not that big of a difference. They still have the players, and Norv Turner isnt that bad of an coach.
Sorry to disagree with you but Norv Turner makes a better offensive coordinator than a head coach. Remember just because he inherits a great offensive really doesn't mean much. They still have to play from week one to week sixteen and hope they win enough games to make the playoffs. Remember las season when they won 14 games, then laid an egg when it counted the most.
So who says that Norv Turner cannot win alot of games?
Is it because of the Raiders (sorry, but the majority of mistakes were made personal wise and thats Al Davis era). He wasnt the best coach in the world, but I wouldnt count him out working with incredible players. It might work out. But I see the Chargers winning atleast 10 games.

I think he'll win alteast 10, but like I said before, the real question is if he is going to do anything in the playoffs when coaching is just as crucial as talent.
