What I'm saying is that an coach is more important when choosing personel like players than actual playcalling on the sideline.

Obviously, coaches who do well on the sideline are important, but if that coach cant make good decisions when it comes to hiring players, all the play calling in the world wont make a difference.

That's pretty much what head coaches do these days. Heck, I wouldnt be surpraised if the majority of sideline calls are from the coordinators and not the head coach.

Also, the Patriots does not dispute that fact. The Patriots during thier run had some of the best players on a team.

Like who? The Patriots pretty much had a different team offensively every year the won the title(with the obvious exception of Brady), and each year it seemed like they were less talented than the year before.

Well Norv Turner pretty much won't have to make any major hiring decesions since SD is already set for the next couple of years talent wise, and even so, the GMs have alot to do with picking the talent, not just coaches, its just the coaches that get credit for the talent if they do good, or take the fall if they do bad.

Turner is one sorry head coach. He must win a superbowl to prove me wrong. Also, a team must have good coaching to win games as well as superbowls.

I think the Titans should dump "Pacman" and sign Nate Clements. I also think they should go after and sign Adalius Thomas to spruce up the LB corp.

Pacman is just a distraction, and a 1-2 loss of wins this upcoming season.

Yeah, teams NEED good coaches to be a good time. Like Duke every year, one reason they stay up there is because of Coach K.

It's actually been the past two years on where the Patriots are losing good players and its being shown that they arnt the same team.

I dont think people are understanding my point. I'm not saying good head coaches are not important. All I'm saying is that head coaches are more important in the personel side than the playcalling side. That's why I think Norv Turner might do well because he isnt a bad playcaller, and he already has the team to do well.

Why does Norv Turner have to win the Superbowl to prove you wrong. If he keeps the team at the same pace, makes the playoffs, and then loses, doesnt that mean that Turner didnt do a good job? I think thats the problem of the NFL nowadays. A coach is expected to win the big game in a few years after being hired. I say thats crap. If you have a coach that consistenly gives you winning records, and makes the playoffs, why fire him if he doesnt? Is it automatically assumed that the coach that replaces him will win the big game?

I dont think the Titans have that bad of LB group. Thornten, and Bulluck are great as OLB and Sirmon isnt bad. Thomas is an OLB and more suited to play 3-4. He would be an great fit for Dallas.

That is why Dennis Green shouldn't have been fired....^^^^

Neither should Art Shell but he did the good thing by getting the hell out of Oakland.

Smasandian's argument in now way meant Green shouldnt be fired. Green did not lead the team to the playoffs or a good record, or even a respectable record. Green lead the team to a shit hole.

Art Shell deserved to be fired. If there defense wasn't remotely good, which wasn't Shell's doing as he's an offense guy, they go 0-16. They got out coached, out hustled, out smarted, out everything every freaking game. One season was enough.

Dillion wasn't there for all there superbowl runs, and even as a Patriot he was headed toward the downside of his career, defensive yea, they have been pretty consitent and kept a core group, offensivley is a different story.

Winning playoff games will already be a more succesful season for the Chargers than last years where they couldn't win one. If Turner makes the playoffs and loses, in general he did a good job, but with SD's expectations he did a bad job. If a coach inherits a good team like the Chargers, yea, they are expected to win the big game in a few years because of the talent level on the team. Look at Dungy, every year he was expected to go the Superbowl with the Colts before he finally won one. I never said it was fair, but whoever said football was?

I'm glad Dillion is possibly moving to another team, So Lawrence get more playing time. I think he can be a great back.

I dont know, if I was an up and coming coach, who wanted to be the head coach and make a name for yourself, I would go the Raiders.

I suppose I could tolerate the masochist aspect of it in lieu of a stepping stone/payday.
