I don't understand why a team that can't protect would want a pocket passer as their QB. Dallas is the perfect example of what a team could do without a protective offensive line. The current solution is not to build up their O-line but to get a QB that can scramble while also securing their future. Troy Smith is that guy, Browns Raiders Texans all need a scramble QB because their line sucks.
Thats the problem with a lot of GM's, some don't know what they are doing. I am hearing that Jake Plummer is going to wide up being a texan.

Dwight Freeney would be a great fit. Smart move by the Colts to "franchise him". Nate Clements just might be ion his way. The Titans are on his short list of teams. Maybe his only list. How do you know the Titans aren't going to get Thomas? They could???
Because its going to cost an shitload of money. The top 2 pickups in the free agency is going to cost them and considering they have a pretty damn good LB core, Thomas if picked up will probably hurt the team finacially later on. They dont need him, they need other parts of the team.
Clements is going to be asking for the top dollar and Thomas will probably command similiar numbers.
It would be good for them to pick them up, but its unnecessary, especially considering that the secondary and LB core is one of thier strengths.
Bot's point is that this is unnecessary thread and should be discussed in the NFL thread. We dont need an thread for everyteam when the NFL thread is around. He is also making a point because before we had a enomourous amount of soccer threads. Now its NFL and the NBA group.
Jake Plummer as an QB for the Texans is a joke.
If he cant play for a team like the Bronco's, why the hell do people think Plummer will be alright for the Texans?
I think people's assumption that mobile QB's is sure answer for solving an bad offensive line. Carr isnt Vick, but he is definitly a bit quicker that most pocket QB's. Romo did well in Dallas, but he got the same protection that Bledsoe did. The difference is that Romo was good at getting rid of the ball while Bledsoe wasnt. Mobile QB's still need a good line to protect them. Look at Vick, he is probably one of the more sacked QB's in the league.
Texans need an good line, and Troy Smith, Plummer or any mobile QB's will not save them. They need an offense, and the starts with the offensive line.

Yeah, I'm surpraised by Norv Turner also.
same here.I was at first scacthing my head and was saying-WTF??? Norv Turner? whats he ever done? However the more I think about it,I think he will succeed this time where he has failed in the past. They said that he was the one that initally installed the offense that Cameron just took over and ran after Turner left so he seems to have had a hand in that offense so I guess the hiring kinda makes since now that I think about it.I think Turner will do okay in San Diego. It will take at least a year to get adjusted to the new coordinaters and everything and they will probably only go back in as a wild card this year because everybody is also going to be shooting for them since they really should have been the team in the superbowl.so that will put them back at least a year but unlike with washington and oakland, this time Turner doesnt have to build the team around him and he finally has the talent already there for him to take to the superbowl. If he cant get the CHARGERS to the superbowl for crying out loud,he should never be hired as a football coach again.Im just so happy that Marty the moron is gone.Hooray. 💃 I can now be a Chargers fan again.I love it,that was Martys best and LAST chance to make it to the superbowl.he never will because IF he gets hired again,he will never come across a team anywhere near as talented as the chargers are.marty just got lucky and came across a team that the general manager was a genius in building with great quality draft choices.
Positions, everyone! We need in-depth analysis of each Tennessee Titan move over the course of free agency. This thread must be stocked with up-to-the-second info regarding player visits, including conference meetings and even if they're taking a dump. All pro-rated dollar amounts must be accounted for as well as signing bonuses or if Jeff Fisher sprung for a Diet Coke during a guy's visit.
This thread deserves no less than the absolute best for the Tennessee Titans.
Oh I forgot to add in that if Turner cant get the CHARGERS to the superbowl in the next 5 years,he should never be hired as a coach in the NFL again. This time he has all the pieces in place, theres no excuse for him not to be able to take them to the superbowl. This time he doesnt have to build a team from within like he had to with washington and Oakland.those places he never had the talent around him to get a team to the superbowl so I would think THIS time since he does,he should have them in the superbowl .It will take a couple years or so to be a serious playoff contender for the chargers to get adjusted to the new coaching staff since they lost their top two cordinaters but heck ANYBODY will be an improvement over marty.Turners mind at least wont freeze up in the playoffs assuming he can get them back there which again with the talent he has,I dont see that being a problem.Im just so happy Marty is gone now and i can again start rooting for the chargers to beat the chiefs the one team I hate more in pro football than any other team except the st louis lambs. For the first time in my life i was forced to do the unthinkable and root for the chiefs to beat the chargers,a team I always loved till marty came along since I actually hate Marty more then the chiefs-I mean the kansas city clowns. Now its great to have things back to normal.

Lateral move at best. If Texan fans weren't already pissed about the monumental number of sacks, now they can add poor decision making under pressure on top of that.Hey forum, don't let those homers get to ya. I went to Georgia Tech so naturally, I think Calvin Johnson is the best as well.
p.s. 2-to-1 odds that someone stacks up Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush's numbers and/or analysis in comparison. I'll wager $75.
I really dont think its a matter of opinion, unless your a homer fan of another guy you would agree Calvin is far and away the #1 WR in the draft.
About this Troy Smith thing, hes not gonna be that mobile in the nfl. He is too small and not fast enough to play like someone like vick. He is also short and doesnt have the best arm strength. He has also shown to be a bit lazy and unwilling to put the work in (showing up to the combine out of shape) So far he isnt looking like a guy that a lot of teams would want. He could be good, but hes gotta work at it like everyone else, the Heisman doesnt get him anything in the NFL.
Pshhh.....diet coke. Only the Titans get the best you know. **** real sugar, only aspartame is good enough for the mighty Titans. Brain tumours (thats TUUMA for the unedumicated) and brain lesions and lymphoma wont stop them taking the purest drink of all. They're the Titans for christsakes, they're invinicible. (Especially against racial adversity)
So lets start with what position Norman Chow takes an shit. Do you think he stands when letting one loose? You know, you dont really want to sit on those dirty seats in the away bathroom in Indy. You might get herpes or something.

Winning the Heisman doesn't mean a darn thing. Just because you are a heisman trophy winner doesn't mean you are going to win a superbowl.
