I am sorry but I don't see any of that in Calvin Johnson, dude can't run routes like a should be able to. In most of his catches he doesn't have position but uses his size and leaping ability which are two things Jarrett has. Plus he is pushing off when he doesn't need to and he isn't using his body like he should be doing.

Like a what should be able to?

Do you remember days as a kid where you and your friends would play in the street, and it was 4th down and you had to score a touchdown? You'd send your tallest receiver to the 4th mailbox and just launch this moonball Hail Mary. As six guys are standing within 2 inches of your WR, he'd jump up and come down with ball because he was bigger, stronger, and had good hands. That was what many of CJ's catches involved. Oh, and the guy can run routes and catch it in stride, too (see game vs. UVA last year for some of the crispest routes you will ever see at the collegiate level).

A WR pushing off? Hey, just don't do it in the Super Bowl (wink, wink, Forum), and I think they'll be just fine in the big leagues.

Like a wide receiver should be able to. LOOK at him when he is running routes, it is hard to look at. He runs it as if he has something crammed up his arse. He fakes absolutely no one out on his routes and they are almost predictable. And what you just mentioned is exactly what Jarrett can do and what he has done at USC. We have many of those in the NFL, neither Calvin or Jarrett are special because they can do that.

Jarrett is a fundamental guy like Jerry Rice, he can do everything and he catches every ball that comes his way. Dude hasn't had one fumble his whole career. If I had to choose between Randy Moss or a 6'5 Jerry Rice then I would go with Rice without even thinking about it.

Here's the complete list of top 5 WR's in the last 20 years:

1992 - Desmond Howard #4 overall
1995 - Michael Westbrook #4 overall
1996 - Keyshawn Johnson #1 overall
2000 - Peter Warrick #4 overall
2003 - Charles Rogers #2 overall
2003 - Andre Johnson #3 overall
2004 - Larry Fitzgerald #3 overall
2005 - Braylon Edwards #3 overall

Best thing to do is just wait and see how it all pans out. You just never know. Plus, I think Detroit has killed the trend of the necessity to draft WR's in the top 10.

I dont know

I saw Jarrett catch the ball, the CB was out of position and Jarrett had a couple of steps on him, then starts running and then gets caught from behind.

I dont think Jarrett is that special

And Mike Williams is a total bust. As an high draft pick, you have atleast perfrom somewhat well, but he hasnt. He has under 500 yards for two years, plus half a million dollars of fines for being late, and Furrey plays better than he does. The guy is a loser.

Furrey reminds me of Don Beebe.

What's funny is the only 2 things that made them different had to do with the surrounding cast and circumstance, but as is the case for most players. For example, Kelly would hit Beebe in stride and usually get a few more yards than Kitna was able to get for Furrey. Also, the Lions were always trailing so Furrey got twice as many looks as Beebe ever did.

Their is no need to compare Mike Williams to Dwayne Jarrett. They are distinctly two different people. Dwayne is his own person. Williams tried unsuccessfully to ride to coattails of the jailbird Maurice Clarrett. As for Jarrett, I am only, repeat only using this as an example--Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens ran similar 40 times. I think we all know what they've done. Obviously he is not in their league yet, but that is why people shouldn't look at a person 40yard dash time. The 40yard dash is way too misleading. Do not be surprised if the Titans draft Jarrett, he is going to be a good receiver.

I wouldn't be surprised if any team drafts Jarrett. And that's meant to be a compliment not to him, but to the unpredictability of the draft.

1. Calvin hasn't done a damn thing that Jarrett hasn't done.

2. Yeah stats do dictate something and don't compare USC to Hawaii please, weak conference and USC plays top notch opponents every year and Jarrett has torched them every year.

3. Great speed? Do you see him running? That speed is not great, it is OK but nowhere near great. On field he is faster than Jarrett but his speed is not top notch.

4. Williams has been given a few years and that is it. Wasn't this past season only his 3rd season? You calling him a bust already? What ever happened to "give him time" that is always said about developing players. He is barely 23.

6. I look at his vertical leap as making up for his lack of route running skills. Jarrett is also 6-5 and his vertical leap is no joke. Look at him on the field, dude rises up for every ball thrown his way.

I still fail to see what he has over Jarrett besides speed. Looking at their game tape, you don't see a difference in vertical leap. People don't want to admit it because they know it isn't that much but the only thing CJ has over Jarrett is speed. If Jarrett had Ted Ginn speed he would be the best thing since sliced bread or Ben n Jerry's chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.

Ok im not sure you read what I said.

1. I didnt say calvin did things that DJ didnt do. I said I think calvin is #1 because of his athleticism and the potential I see in him. And yes he does appear to be the superior athlete. His combination of speed, size, hands, knowledge of his position, leaping.. everything is either the best for all WR prospects or near the top.

2. I did not say stats are meaningless, I said they dont always show the better player. I then gave an example in Hawaii. I did not compare hawaii to USC I used them as independent examples for why stats are not 100%

3. For a guy his size, the speed is great.

4. Mike williams sucks

6. If you didnt just watch USC and watched GT (they would have to win a championship first im sure) youd know CJ can run a route with the best of them. Even with the entire defense only caring about 1 thing. Stopping him. (And if you think Jarret is the D's only concern or even its #1 concern your wrong)

You know I actually like DJ and think he could be pretty good. I love the fact that his uncle taught him how to catch at age 8 and made him do pushups for dropping the ball. But I dont see him as being a great #1 WR, I see him as being a great #2 WR for a team.

What you mean they would have to win a championship first "I'm sure". What are you trying to imply? And I do watch the GT games, this past season I watched 3 of them and I have watched a numerous amount of highlights on this guy, I am the one who went scouring the web to find highlights of him to make this video which clearly shows Jarrett is better and even though he doesn't have top notch speed, he can still get it done. And yes Jarrett was the main concern for every team USC faced this year. Steve Smith is good and is capable is putting up numbers when Jarrett isn't on the field drawing double teams but teams don't game plan to stop him. Jarrett is always at the epicenter of all teams game plan.

People like to compare the Pac-10 to the ACC and say that the competition in the Pac-10 is non existent and the corners of the ACC are all NFL worthy. But they forget to mention the fact that USC played the most ranked opponents last year and has played high calibur opponents for years now and Jarrett has made them his slaves in each and every game.

You make it sound like they're brothers or something.

Titans might draft Jarrett, but I dont think they will. The only reason is because well, I dont think the Titans really want a type of player like Jarrett who has an attitude right now. (Not saying its horrible or anything, but I dont think the Titans want to take a chance at all.)

And really, Jarrett will not make the Titans playoff contenders.

If Jarrett wont, CJ wont but I think the Titans will make the playoffs next season. How does Jarrett have an attitude?

if you determine who is better by finding highlight reals online your crazy. You have to watch every play to be able to understand a player.

I think the titans need a pure burner, someone who can really stretch defenses.

I didn't determine who is better that way and I think it was pretty obvious I didn't

Me first type of guy.

Not sayings its a bad attitude, its just in context to what the Titans just went through with Jones, anybody with a selfish attitude will be looked at heavily.

Well, he is the Lord of Evolution, so maybe he evolved into a clearer manner of evaluating talent.

Who said Jarrett has an attitude? Drafting him gives VY a huge target to throw to. He just might make them playoff contenders.

damn thats deep i never thought of that.

Could have sworn I said I watched games too. But if I guess I can't determine who is better by watching games and highlights you sure as hell can't by doing the same lol..... 😕
