Teams do care about protesters and bad images. This isnt an drunk driving charge. Its dogfighting and killing dogs. That's a complete different story.

The plea deal he signed had nothing in there about betting. And thats whats against NFL policy and something he could be banned for. He can't be banned for dog fighting, suspended yes, but banned, I don't think so. He admitted to sponsoring dogs and transporting dogs across state lines to fight. So he financed the fights but didn't bet any of his own money on the dogs and didn't receive any winnings.

But the statement of facts specifies that Vick did not gamble by placing sidebets on any dogfights and did not receive the proceeds of any of the purses won by Bad Newz Kennels.

Finacing an illegal betting operation is still against the NFL policy. It doesnt matter if he doesnt bet, or whatnot, the reason why the illegal betting operation is being operated is because Vick is using his money to do that.

" he commissioner said Vick's admitted conduct was ''not only illegal but also cruel and reprehensible.'' Even if he didn't personally place bets, Goodell said, ''your actions in funding the betting and your association with illegal gambling both violate the terms of your NFL player contract and expose you to corrupting influences in derogation of one of the most fundamental responsibilities of an NFL player.''

That spells ban. Will it happen, well, we'll see in two years, but dont think that just because he didnt bet doesnt mean that he isnt in the clear.

Too bad the Chargers couldn't do this against the Pats. 😐

Go...somebody? (my fantasy team, likely...I won't be rooting for a team specifically until the Steelers on Sunday).

****ers at work wont give me Sundays off, even though I original had Sundays, and they personally guarenteed me Sundays off when they asked for my help in running the restaurant after the chef got fired, and pretty much everyother cook left. I was the only cook who actually can do everything in the kitchen.

Now I'm missing opening weekend, luckily Dallas plays at night, but still, those ****ers.

My only prediction I will tell you guys on this website is in Week 4, Forumcrew will bash the refs during the Seattle vs San Francisco match.

It will be an pass interference penalty between Marcus Trufant (barring he doesnt get injured) and Darrell Jackson, resulting in a 39 yard play and subsequent 1 yard rushing TD for Gore and the game, 37-30.

He did it in college.

...honestly though, we have the talent at receiver, but I can see it coming back to bite us. How many "pass first" offenses actually do well? Even Manning, for all his hype, runs a balanced attack that mixes in the run a bunch...dude lives off of play-action.

But I'll be honest: I'm excited. Hard-nosed "Steeler" football works, but a shotgun spread formation for half the game will be sweet as hell to watch.

They all say it because it's textbook media stuff, but only in a few places does it guarantee success, and Pittsburgh is one of those places. But the point is, they don't have the same personel anymore. Parker isn't a Bettis-style RB. The spread offense will give him more room to run when they give it to him.

I have no problem with changing formulas (even successful ones) as your team changes. I'm interested to see how it works out. And keep in mind, even a 60/40 split toward passing is massive and nigh-impossible. Hell, I don't even think Martz has that kind of discrepancy. "Pass first" doesn't mean abandon the run.

A pass first offense, or teams that are labelled as pass first, usually have great run games.

St Louis had Faulk.
Indy had James.
Cincy has Johnson.

That's all I could think of, but I know there is more.

But whats really funny, in my opinoin is teams that have great pass offenses but no run rarely do well.

Look at the Cardinals with two great WR's, but no run game.

I'm hearing JaMarcus Russell may be about to sign. I doubt if he will even this year. I think that Culpepper will succeed and go someplace like Atlanta and thrive next season.

Does anybody think that Brady Quinn will start after the six game?

McCown's the starter, not Culpepper. Quinn's obviously starting. When your team stinks, it only makes sense to give the newb some reps.

And agree with Smas. The best attack is balanced. Look at any Mike Martz team to see what happens when you play like it's a Madden video game. Some variants of the West Coast offense are the only possible exceptions. McNabb has never had a great running game (Westbrook is equally valuable as a receiver, if not moreso).

Saints win in a shootout in the RCA Dome tonight.

Here's why: The Saints pose a much greater defensive matchup problem for the Colts than the other way around. The Colts are going to have to stack the box to keep Deuce and Bush from piling up yardage. This should leave them vulnerable to play action passing downfield. On offense, the Colts have one major problem--their rookie LT. The strength of the NO defense are the two all-pro ends. If the Colts can't establish the run early with Addai, Manning is going to face some serious heat from the pass rush. I predict the Saints will go up early in this one. The Colts will make a late-game run but fall just short. 35-31 Saints.

Thats an interesting point. It will be a great game though.

The saints looked TERRIBLE tonight. I really dont think the Colts D is that good I just think it was the Saints offense playing so bad that made the colts D look that much better. And wow every other team that has the Saints on their schedule must be circling David's name in as the target of their abuse.

I can see why the Colts let that guy go. As for the Saints, I know its just one game but Are the Saints overrated?
