It did a little, even with the Ike INT, but they only ran 3 snaps in the second half until about 10 minutes left in the game.
4) Buildling off of #3, long drives are momentum killers, and the #1 argument against running a run-and-shoot and hurry-up offense as your game plan. Defenses rest and mistakes are kept to a minimum.
5) Ben played maybe his best game in 1-1/2 years. I don't need 80-yard bombs from the guy. I need third and longs converted.
6) What was with the Screen Porch shading? I was half-expecting Cleopatra-style feather fans. Holmgren needed some sunscreen, and just think if it was an away game at Miami ior Jacksonville in week 1 or 2!!!!
7) Good luck to the Seahawks and beat up on the Browns and Ratbirds for us, like you did the Bengals.
I dont think the Steelers are a great team. I would say that the Steelers are a mediocre team. Their secondary is not an aspect to be relied on. Their safety's are rarely worth mentioning. The linebackers however, are generally consistant. This is to be expected though from a team that builds it's defense around the blitz. The defensive and offensive line is usually what saves the game for this team.
Their offense is by no means a force to be reckoned with. Even though many people believe willie parker to be a great running back, i believe he benefits from the Steelers ability to control the time of possesion. When the defense is tired, holes open up and miss tackles are abound. Ben is possibly one of the leagues best quarterbacks. The offensive line and his ability to break a sack and gun outside the pocket is what makes him a force. The recievers accomplishments, however, like you mentioned are sparse.
Their are only three things, i believe, that give the Steelers ( a mediocre team) the edge. One is their defensive and offensive lines, two is their ability to control the game clock. Lastely is the play makers. The few star players they have are consistant in making plays when needed. Hines Ward is always their to grab the ball for a third down converstion as well as offering supurb blocking. Palamalu Works the entire field allowing other players on the defense to focus on more than thier specified man. with his awarness of the field and ability to break sacks, Ben can generaly find an otherwise invisible reciever.
Yes, i berate and crap on the losing teams. I also sit silent waiting for my spoonfull of crap when the Steelers lose. If you have a problem with this, you obviously take a silly game to serious for not being involved in the sport.

In other news, I'm going out on the limb to say that the Colts GM is the best talent evaluator in the league.
Watching the TB vs Indy and I was surpraised how easily the Colts dominated them. They didnt have Harrison, Addai, Utech and they still ran and threw over the TB defense.
It was very impressing.
Well, I might be right.
A few things about the broadcast and game.
a. Penalty against TO was complete garbage. It wasnt an spike, he just threw it down on the ground. Complete shit.
b. Whats with the Trent Edwards handjobs? I understand that Romo gets alot of praise, but what the **** has Edwards done to warrent this? All 2 quarters have been sideline, checkdown and screen passes. He hasnt done anything, and the majority of yards has been yards after catch.
c. Thank god Dallas is playing Buffalo. Anybody else, and the Cowboys would be ****ed. 4 INTs, two TD's and Dallas is losing by 3. Hopefully they come out and be like they have been for the past 4 games and score a ton of points. It could happen, but I'm still going to say they lose.
That was an amazing game. And you NEVER see Cowboys winning games like that. I was out of my seat when they hit that first field goal, then to find out the Bills coach pulled the same snake move that Shanahan and Kiffin pulled. Only this time, the second FG was money. Great game to watch.
Romo with 5 picks, 6 turnovers and the Cowboys still win. Perseverance is a trait of true champions. I think they'll win next week against New England.

It looks like Folk was the right choice and the correct draft pick.
Hopefully, the league takes away that rule because its totally undramatic. Just wait in the playoffs when Vineteri hits the fieldgoal, and then redo's it again and misses. That would be kinda of funny. If I was the team that got shafted with that rule, I would tell the kicker to purposely miss so the coach looks like an jackass.

In my eyes, it was an instant classic. The timeout BS made it even better.
Can't wait until that game next week though. I hate the Patriots, and I hope it doesn't turn out like that game a few years ago when the undefeated Eagles played the Steelers and got blown out. I remember that game like it was yesterday. Eagles defense got ran all over and McNabb was a joke. It showed just how more dominant the AFC is than the NFC, hope it is different this year. But in the Eagles defense, the Steelers were unbeatable(until the playoffs) and they made the Super Bowl.
