NFL Talk

I may be in the minority here but I actually liked Mike Patrick on Sunday Night football in the past. Got so used to him that it just wasn't the beginning of a fall work week without him. I still like him on ESPN's Saturday night college broadcasts with Todd Blackledge.

To me, He's a good neutral play-by-play guy (when you don't have a dog in the fight). He doesn't have the intensity that you'd probably want when you're rooting hard for your team, but as far as cozy evening broadcasts where you're really just looking for a good game, I prefer him.

I just dont like Kornholer. Too PTIish and his views are somewhat ridiculous.

Buck and Aikman are the worst. Actually, Phil Sims is the worst. He blowjobs every QB that is playing. Doesnt actually say a single bad thing about what the teams are doing except when they go for it on 4th and 1.

For example, a team is blowing the D-line to pieces but a coach gets too smart for his own good and starts throwing the ball. The last play he runs and gets 9 yards, but its 4th down. He goes for it when each running play is getting 5 or more yards per carry. Sims goes, "they should punt the ball, its the smart thing to do". Not noticing the ball is on the opposing teams 40 and it makes no sense. ****ing retard.

"Fisher reached out to police because therapist said Young mentioned suicide"

"I asked him, 'What made her worry about him?' " Lt. Andrea Swisher wrote. "He stated, 'His mood, his emotions, he wants to quit, and he mentioned suicide several times.' He went on to state that he left the house with a gun."

I hope, but if not, then get rid of him and draft the RIGHT QB.

we get another double monday night. they are moving Baltimore @ Houston to Monday because of the Hurricane. I imagine they will use Mike, Mike, and Mike again for the second game. Anyone else cant stand Ditka during last monday night?

Yea Hurricane Ike its supposed to hit Texas pretty hard.

Well so much for that. The stadium was jacked up pretty good so as of right now there is not a plan for the game. Apparently the Astrodome might be ok so I gotta imagine they just move over there. But

Yeah, would make sense.

The problem with the NFL, its almost impossible to make up a game.

well basically houston and baltimore are getting their Bye weeks switched to week 2. They will replay their game in week 10 or something like that when Baltimore was supposed to have their bye (but houston was supposed to play cinci that day) so they will move that game to like week 4 (when houston was supposed to have their bye) and then Cinci gets their bye in that week 10 when houston and bmore play.

Reading that half in the tank was impossible.

But okay....ahahah.

Bill Cowher just called Deangelo Williams and Johnathan Stewart the best 2 RB's in football. And no he did not say "the best tandem in football" he actually said they are the 2 best. This is when I was remembered why I watch FOX pregame and not CBS.

decent morning games today

Vikings. face-plain There was absolutley no reason to lose this game. I feel so bad for Peterson and the Vikings defense because they are the only people that actually do anything. Tavaris Jackson is the worst QB in the league, Brad Childress is a terrible play caller, and Bernard Berrian can't do anything at all the few times Tavaris actually gets it too him. It doesn't help that we play the Panthers and then the Saints. And then I think it's the Bears but I'm not sure, which is another tough game because the Bears have been alright, plus its a rivalry.

Oh well hopefully the Eagles will give me something to root for, and hopefully the Vikes can at least make a run at the playoffs. A QB better be there first priority in the offseason though. And a new head coach.

The Vikings still were able to go toe to toe with the Colts though.

I just feel kind of bad because the whole team is talented but they are going to be held back because of poor QB play. Until Jackson emerges, if he ever does, the Vikings are going to be a step behind the elite teams.

I know right. We could be so good if we had basically any other starting QB besides T-Joke. Sure we went down the wire with the Colts, but we dominated for basically 59 minutes and still managed to lose. No touchdowns is a bad sign too becuase the Colts defense isn't exactly great.

But hey, the Giants were 0-2, hated Eli and Coughlin, and look what happen to them. 13

I don't really think saying that they went toe to toe with the Colts is actually a good thing and lose considering the Colts have been playing like shit and everybody is somewhat injured.

Pathetic by the Vikings. They ass raped the Colts for the first half of the game and they lose. The score should be 35 to 18.

And sadly it will never change because Childress still swears T-Joke will be the next McNabb. If Childress knew how to call plays the Vikings would have scored at least one touchdown. Everybody knew when the Vikings were gonna run, and when they were gonna pass. Even the one play the announcer said "Here comes a play action roll out for Tavaris too see if he can create something" and sure enough that was the exact play.

If only the WR's had hands on their feet, then Tavaris would be a pro-bowler.

Chargers got robbed.

Or have the jump boots from Quake.

I love it when Jackson throws the ball on a slant to the guy and the announcers tell how great the pass was. I'm like, "its a ****ing slant and the only reason its not picked off is because the CB's had to wake up".

The Vikings might be the first time ever to have a running game, good defense and the gameplan of throwing the ball off bootlegs and extreme down the field passes that are not meant to be caught but actually pass interfered with."

Yea that was a pretty iffy call. Collinsworth was just explaining it and saying the rule is stupid but that technically the refs called it right.

Meanwhile Seattle got robbed when they got an INT in the endzone and a phantom pass interference was called giving SF a TD, but that was in the 3rd quarter so they should have overcame it. They dominated the shit out of SF on 1st and 2nd then let them pick them apart on 3rd down it was such a joke. I really figured we could beat the piece of crap 49's and then the even worse Rams then we get bye week and come into week 5, 2-1 with branch and engram back... ah well. At least it looks like we finally found a TE that only took many many many years.
