Too bad the Vikes won't get him

Apparently they don't even want him.

Pioneer Press - The Vikings reportedly won't be among the suitors for Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler because some members of their coaching staff have "reservations."

The Broncos officially placed Cutler on the trading block Tuesday night.

"After further inspection, those reservations apparently didn't stop with the coaching staff. Indeed, there are indications that multiple people in the organization weren't comfortable with Cutler, from all corners of the franchise," the report said. "It's almost unthinkable Minnesota would try to rekindle talks, particularly now that so many other teams are in play."

seems washington is in heavy negotiations for Cutler

Because Sage Rosenfals and Tavaris Jackson are much better than Cutler.

Who can Washington give away? Straight up trade for Jason Campbell?

Another question is this? The Bronco's gave a 2 year 6 million dollar contract to Chris Simms?

What the ****?

Further proof that the Vikings have no clue what they are doing.

Holy shat. Bears juts paid a huge price for Cutler.

Broncos Send:

Cutler, 3rd round pick in 2009

Bears Send:
Orton, 1st round pick in 2009, 1st round pick in 2010

Cant believe it but Denver might actually come out of this ahead.

Now that Cutler is a Bear, Sanchez to the Bronco's perhaps???

Wow, few players in the NFL are worth two 1st's. I don't think Cutler is one of them.

Bears also gave up a third rounder.

"THIRD UPDATE: NFL.com reports that the Bears are giving up two first-rounder, a third-rounder, and Orton for only Cutler."

Yea thanks for the update

Broncos Send:

Cutler, 5th round pick in 2009

Bears Send:
Orton, 1st round pick in 2009, 3rd round pick in 2009, 1st round pick in 2010

Broncos made out like bandits on this one.

Agreed.

Nowadays, some teams don't even want there 1st round picks because its alot cheaper to get a guy like Cutler who has proven that he can play, then pay a first rounder massive amounts of cash for the idea that he can play.

Sure the Bears gave alot but just think? They're defense is pretty good (not as dominant as before, but still good), Matt Forte is a beast and they're special teams are good also. If they still have a second rounder, they have the possibility in getting a pretty decent WR. Heck, there's a few good ones in the draft this year. Cutler is an instant upgrade to whatever they had. They now have a clear cut number 1 QB who has the arm to throw in Chicago weather during the winter and ...they stopped Minn and Detriot from getting him. The more I think about it, the more I like the move for Chicago.

Good move by both teams.

Hester needs to get a LOT better at catching for this to work. Cutler has a cannon and hester has the speed but can hester catch it. And can hester catch the short ones that come out like bullets instead of like fluffy bunnies that orton threw.

Cutler throwing to Olsen is an exciting prospect to me.

Thank God the Cutler "saga" is finally over with.

Now the Broncos can go back to being a joke of an organization and the rest of us can concentrate on April 25th.

I assume the draft starts on Sat at 3pm ET?

I hope so because I have an exam at 1130.

Oooh yeah, I forgot about that new format. They did it last year, but I liked the old way better.

I would say I like it at 3 just because I would miss the first 15 picks.

One thing though, I really like how its only 10 minutes now. Speeds things up.

****, it should be 5 to 9 minutes long. Most teams have their picks already decided in the top 10. Hell, the second round should be 10 minutes or considering all the trades that happen.

I agree with what you're saying about the time per pick, but I think they should have kept it @ 3 rounds on the first day. 2 rounds just doesn't do it for me, not when there are usually still high-profile players on the board. Sunday's draft coverage is more like a formality.

If I'm not mistaken, last year's round 2 ended at 9:30-ish EST, and that was it. Maybe start the draft at 2:00 and have it go 3 rounds until 11:30? I think they could do it with the shortened time per pick.
