Plaxico Burress, released Friday by the Giants amid an ongoing gun-possession case in New York, cursed out a police officer in Florida during a recent traffic stop, telling the cop he was going to be in trouble because Burress knew the sheriff "personally," the New York Post has reported.

Burress, who faces a 3½-year prison sentence on the gun charge, replied to the each of the officer's questions and commands with an "[expletive] you" during the stop, the newspaper reported, citing police.
Broward County Deputy Sheriff Donald Harris pulled Burress over around 10:30 a.m. on March 18 for speeding on Interstate-95 near Fort Lauderdale, the Post reported. Harris opened the door of Burress' black 2008 Toyota Sequoia when the officer couldn't see inside the player's SUV.
"[Expletive] you," Burress said, according to the Post. "You can't open my [expletive] door."
Burress, who the police report said was driving like "he was going to kill somebody," was issued a $150 speeding citation, his fifth traffic ticket in Florida in the past month, the report said.
According to the police, a "violent and aggressive" the 31-year-old Burress was asked to get out of his car in order to be checked for weapons.
"You're going to hear about this by the end of your shift," said Burress, who has a house in South Florida, as he returned to his car, according to the newspaper report.
Burress also received tickets for going 60 mph in a 45-mph zone, improper tags, improper lane change and improper window tinting on March 1, the Post reported.
His gun-possession case was adjourned last Tuesday until June 15.
Looks like Greg Paulus's sports career might not end sitting on Dukes bench. The Packers brought him in for a workout. They did not say where but it is believed to be for a WR/QB wildcat type hybrid player.

A four-time all-state football player in New York, Paulus is listed at 6'1", 180 pounds on the Duke basketball roster. Paulus set six New York state passing records, including career passing yards (11,763). He threw 152 touchdown passes in 45 career games, leading his high school to a 42-3 record with him under center.
Paulus was the starting quarterback in the U.S. Army All-American game, also garnering All-American football honors from Parade Magazine.
He was offered scholarships to Notre Dame and Miami to play QB but turned them down to play at Duke.

If the Seahawks are serious about taking him, then they probably will try to trade up. If the Hawks don't get grab him, the Jags will probably get him @ #8. I doubt he falls out of the top 10 with the Lions, Seahawks, Jaguars and 49ers all showing interest. So if Denver really wants him, they will trade up, they certainly have the fire power to do so. Though I don't think giving up both of their 1st round picks is smart. I would try to give up just the 2nd round pick and the #18 pick. But giving up both first rounders to move up into the top 10 to take Sanchez shouldn't really set them back, seeing as how they have two first round picks in next years draft as well.

Not entirely sure. I do like Sanchez potential but if Hasselbeck is healthy I would rather them go another direction and get someone like Eugene Monroe (OT), Brain Orackpo (DE/OLB), or BJ Raji (DT). They could even get away with trading down for 1 of the defensive guys to someone who wants Sanchez or Crabtree.
Was just watching part of the E:60 story on some of the dogs rescued from Vicks dogfights. Gotta say I really hope Vick makes it back into the NFL and then I really hope someone cheap shots him and breaks his legs. Hell put him in a wheel chair for the rest of his life even, I wouldnt feel even the slightest bit of sadness for him.
Yesterday, I was watching an old tape of the Indy/PGH Wildcard game from 1996 when a particular play made me wonder if any team's picked up Marvin Harrison (I haven't been paying too much attention and think he's still available) and how many hours after the draft he will be on a team.
Oh, and on the play, Rod Woodson blocked Harrison back about 3 yards to tackle his own running back, Marshall Faulk.
