Any word yet as to the extent of Cassel's leg injury?

MCL sprain they are saying 2-4 weeks right now.

Damn so much for pre-season not counting. KC demoted (but apparently not fired yet?) their offensive coordinator. Sounds like Tod Halley wants to call the plays himself like in Arizona.

I thought he got fired, I read it in Sporting News.

That team is a mess.

Yea just heard now he is fired, first report I read said they had not fired him yet but just announced he wasnt gonna be the coordinator anymore.

Kinda fitting KC would lose their QB first seeing as they took out Brady last year.

Well, he shouldn't be gone for long.

In a interesting twist, all of Dallas' injuries are going towards the rookies. Hopefully this continues.

I wonder if Thigpen is worth a look in the fantasy league.

Nope, he wont be starting long enough if at all. There was a lot of talk that they were trading him.

He might help in a cinch but by the time you need a QB like him, Cassell will be starting.

Looks like they really wan Percy Harvin involved. Doing kick returns, taking snaps, running the ball, and getting targets at WR.

That last play from Favre to Rice for the 1st down is what is so wrong with NFL players. Some guy on the Texans put a big hit on Rice and then him and another defender were celebrating it.... lets review. They just turned a 3rd down into a 1st down on you and your happy??just because you made a nice hit does not mean you did a good job. How about not allowing the 1st down next time.

its cause he finally got a tackle & the other guy didn't know what happened.

They got what was coming. Drive finished with a missed tackle letting Harvin get a lot of extra yards and then Taylor getting a TD on a guy thinking he was just gonna go out and not tackling him properly. Was a very sad defensive series.

Leinart was in no danger of losing anything. I follow the Cards closely, that was a fake QB competition, and all Cards fans knew it. Just compare St. Pierre's play to Leinart's play(preseason, practice, last season, forever) and then look at Whisenhunt's comments about Leinart. Maybe it was to test Leinart, but there was no real competition in the first place. St. Pierre has played terrible against 3rd stringers, it's a wonder how he is even still in the league. With that being said, none of that changes the fact that I want Warner to either retire immediately or suffer a career ending injury for the sake of Leinart's career. They say he'll take over the reigns when Warner retires in 2 years, that is way too long for me.

I wonder where you heard about this QB competition. Perhaps from the same source that told Forumcrew that Sanchez had a "very very" bad game?

ESPN is clearly the devil.

Warner closely beat out Leinart last preseason, and then he continues to have an MVP type season. That's not to say that Leinart would have done the same, but it speaks volumes that it was even that close considering Warner is a first ballot Hall of Famer.

USC has one QB in the league who is on the fast track to faildom, and that is John David Booty. And no one thought he was going to be any good in the first place. Leinart, Palmer, Cassel and Sanchez all look good.

The Saints had the best passing attack bar none with over 5000 yards passing from Brees who nearly broke the all time record for yards in a season. Just a FYI.

Heh.

Most of what you said is roughly true about the Cards. But lulz about the ESPN thing, especially since, as forum has pointed out numerous times, he was at the game.

Not sure where you're going with the Saints comment. This was in response to a post from me, but has nothing to do with anything I said. Though I'm aware of the season they had, so no need for the obvious "FYI."

You should really take my advice about trying to avoid discussing players and colleges that you clearly have an affinity for. It ruins your credibility. Because you have a lot to say about football, and a lot of it might be insightful, but no one can look past the over-the-top USC attention, and so you aren't taken seriously.

Philly fans might be cheering for Vick sooner than thought. Sal Paolantonio is reporting that Vick could be fully reinstated by week 3.

Vick already did his time. Good (potentially) decision by Goodell.

Can't wait to see him play in Week 10.

It will be sooner than that.. He should be ready to go for week 3

I think Barkers point was more that he is excited to see what Vick can do given more time to get comfortable with everything, also with the way Philly has been in the past it would not be far out for Vick to potentially be starting by week 10. But yes his suspension is over after week 2.

He shouldn't start, or even come close the QB slot. He wasn't very good as a QB before he left.
