NFL Talk

OK, the monster weekend has finally arrived. I'll be sure to call in sick Tuesday morning after I stay up until 2 AM to watch the Raiders lose 47-8.

I don't know why, but I got this weird feeling that the "Hines Ward" penalty will be called tonight...but against the Titans. Talk about irony.

And just so everyone is clear, nobody needs to start crying if Hines Ward's shoelace grazes Keith Bulluck's pinky finger. It has to be a blindside helmet, forearm, or shoulder shot to the neck or head of a defenseless (a.k.a. clueless) defender.

Sorry Zeke, but this was too funny & had to put it up.

Hines Ward wont be going over the middle against the Bengals.

Why wouldn't he?

I'm pretty sure he will.

Because Carson Palmer will be playing MLB this season.

Has to be. Evo wouldn't defend a USC defensive player.

in just a matter of hours i cannot wait for this opening game....

I thought the Pittsburgh NFL kickoff celebration in 2006 was top of the line. They had fireworks shooting off the triplet bridges and off the U.S. Steel building. I wonder what they will do to top it. Maybe they'll shoot Franco Harris out of a cannon. Or maybe Mean Joe Greene will skydive naked and land on Jeff Fisher's wife.

That is pretty funny. He spends so much time fighting for guys who have not done much on offense and ignores the elite defensive guys to come out of USC.

Mad because I don't talk more about Troy Polamalu and Lofa Tatupu?

Mad? Believe me you not talking about a player I like would not hurt my feelings in the least. Just found it interesting you have a hard on for USC's offensive guys in the league and ignore the Defensive.

Which reminds me is this the year Mike Williams lives up to his hype or can we officially go with the BUST title now? I mean he did not play last year, and caught a total of 15 passes the 2 years before that. Can you muster the word BUST for one of your USC boys?

I still don't understand why Hines Ward will not go over the middle against the Bengals?

Because Keith Rivers is waiting to give him a high five!

Hahahaha, funny.

Doesn't make too much sense considering Rivers is an OLB and Ward would go over the middle behind the LB.

I'm excited to see Maualuga play, I thought he was exciting to watch at USC.

Maualuga

Again, he probably won't be able to hit Ward across the middle when War will probably go behind him.

You rarely see a big hit on a receiver unless it's from a safety with some momentum.

This is simply not true.

And Ward would be smart to run behind Maualuga, but I highly doubt he's going to be able to avoid that part of the field.

Of course he would be smart, if he goes in front of him it will probably be a 4 yard pass.

Yes, because the only way you can go over the middle in the NFL, is if you receive a pass directly over it.

And there are no passes under 5 yards in the NFL. No slants, no ins, absolutely no short passes in the NFL. 🙄

You may have been playing Madden too much. Every throw isn't a deep bomb to a receiver with 99 speed.

What I mean is that the big hits usually come from safeties because they have enough to find the receiver and accelerate to the point on where he can do some damage.

A 4 yard pass happens but it's usually to quick for LB to take a run at him to knock him out. In slants, most tackles are the weak grab ones where the defensive player sees it and reacts but its too quick to actually hit him.
