Tom Brady

So how good is Tom Brady?....is he the best quaterback in the league right now?...does he deserve the credentials that goes with being a 3 time super bowl champ, two time superbowl MVP, i decided to start this thread because i was reading a GQ magazine on a flight and they had a good article about him, and figured i would try and discuss it here...is Tom Brady that good, or is he the product of a great system with great coaching, and just an outstanding team...i personaly think he is really good, but not great yet, although he definetly has the potential

Its both. He is apart of a great team, and great coaching. But he is also great. I think he is the best QB in a way. He rarley messes up. But, i dont think he is the biggest threat. I think that goes to Mcnabb and Culpepper, because not only are they great at passing, they can scramble out of trouble or even for big gains. I didnt put Vick in their because he isnt to great at the passing part. Out of Mcnabb or Culpepper, I'd say its pretty even. Maybe an edge to Mcnabb since before last year he was great with really no one at the WR positin.

who would you rather have...Peyton or Brady?

Brady. Only cause Peyton's has had one of the best set of WR's. ANd one of the WR's being in the top 3.

But i would take Mcnabb or Culpepper over them. I'm probaly a little baised, but oh well.

you think owens will be an eagle by the end of the year?

i do.. and i know its just pre season but he lit it up in his first game..

and id take manning.. he does more then any QB and has far more responsibility for this team.

Yeah he will be an Eagle the whole year. They told him that after this season if he wants, they will release him and make him a free agent. But no team is gonna give him what the Eagles are giving him right now, let alone what hes asking for.

Id take Manning.

He's always been good and having a good WR means alot, but he still has to throw it at him.
The main thing people say about Brady is that he has 3 Superbowls and 2 Superbowl MVP's.
I agree Brady does it when it counts, but dont forget you cant get in the playoffs by yourself. The Pats are the best team in the league, and the defense somewhat helps Brady out sometimes.
You cant say the same thing with Manning.
If Manning was on the Pats, I think he would of won all those games and won those MVP's.
If Brady was on the Colts, he would be the one always losing to the Pats.

i'm not sure about that, give brady the recieving core manning has and see what happens, Brady has done the job without any "superstar" like player or reciever, he had help with cory dillion last year but the yrs before that his running backs were only average...Brady is a field general in every sense.....he may not have the strongest arm or be the quickest or fastest player, but he still puts up great numbers with only "role players", and the bottom line is that he wins

Wuta the only false thing is that he puts up great numbers, Brady gets the bottom line done, he WINS but he does not have great numbers. Take him as your #1 QB in fantasy and you will learn how great his numbers are.

Marice Clarette Cut from the Denver Broncos

I couldn't stand this guy from day one. After all that B.S about him trying to enter the draft early he gets cut that fast.

Discuss, and yes I am from Denver

yea, i might have went overboard a little bit, but still...the numbers he puts up without having a go-to recieve are still pretty impressive

stay in school kids

And I always believe that a QB makes an average WR into a superstar. Just look at how many WR's fail when they get big contracts from other teams.

What Brady has that Manning doesnt is defense. That makes a big difference when it comes down to winning in the playoffs. The team with it will usually win, especially considering the only good player on the Colts Defense is Freeney.

Brady's WR's are actually really good. Troy Brown has been the superstar for years while Branch is one now. All of those guys can catch.

Manning has two superstars on that team, James and Harrison. Manning made Wayne into a threat and Stokley also a threat. Without Manning, Wayne and Stokley will become above average WR's.

You say give Brady the Colts receivers. Okay, give Manning the Pats defense. You still think Brady will win?

So, you hate him because he wanted to join the NFL earlier?
Considering NBA does this on a regular basis, how is this a good reason to hate a person?

He got cut basically because he got injured and couldnt actually show the coaches what he could do. This always happens in the NFL.
I'm not saying he would of stayed on the team.

sure, statistically speaking, the colts had one of the best defenses in the league last year

bleh..merging.

Was this an anti-Clarett thread that got merged?

In terms of takeaways, yes. But they got killed in yards and average in points.

But really, who believes the Colts defense is actually good. They never made any sort of plays when they counted.
