DId an mock draft. Just something to do. Let's see other peoples draft and maybe we can find an consensues top 10 pick and see the thread did good or not. Do it from the order it is, instead of predicting if some team trades or not

Mine is.

1. Bush - its obvious, and theyre not going for Williams
2. Ferguson - a stud tackle to protect Bree's, wouldnt be surpraised if they pick up Leinart
3. Williams - need an explosive DE and Titans rather have him than Leinart
4. Leinart - new coach, new QB to replace always injured QB in the next year
5. Hawk - born to play as an Packer and they're OLB's arnt great
6. Vernon Davis - need an explosive TE for Smith
7. Vince Young - AL Davis wants him, Al Davis gets what he wants - Justice will probalby be picked up if the coaches presuede him not to get Young
8. Bunkley - maybe Ngata, but this guy is perfect for thier cover 2 scheme
9. Huff - no way Lions pass on him
10. Justice - need to protect Warner

18. dallas - either trade thier pick or get an converted DE to move to LB, if Browns dont get M.Lawson, it would be either him or Kamerion Wimbley. Just thinking of Ware and another LB who can rack up massive amounts of sacks, makes feel good about the defense.

This is what I think they should do, not necisarily what I think they will do.

1. REGGIE BUSH (duh)
2. D'BRICKASHAW FERGUSON (saints have 2 real good young DE's already, mario is a beast but they need to protect brees)
3. VINCE YOUNG (Norm Chow and jeff fisher may not be around long enough to matter here because they still arnt gonna win next year even with leinart, and mcnair has been a mentor to young since high school. He is the best fit looking at the 07-08 season)
4. MARIO WILLIAMS (must replace the hole left by losing Abraham, i think they need this in the long run more then a new QB)
5. AJ HAWK (pretty simple choice, all though if they can get a second rounder or better for Aaron rodgers.. id kinda want them to take Leinart)
6. VERNON DAVIS (absolute amazing talent and big help for a young QB)
7. MICHAEL HUFF (leinart doesnt have the strongest arm and they alrady spent some money on brooks, the secondary really needs help)
8. WINSTON JUSTICE (pretty easy pick for them, its a big need and hes solid)
9. MATT LEINART (Lions have taken 3 WR's in the first round, now they have someone to get them the ball. Kitna can handle the team until Leinart is ready, if he falls this far Matt Millen may be able to keep his job.
10. JAY CUTLER (The D is better than it appears in AZ, and warner is gettin older by the minute, gotta have someone to use those 2 big WR weapons)

Texans just signed Mario Williams, this makes things interesting. SF may get lucky enough to get reggie now.

I dont think the Titans will go for Young. Fisher needs to start winning to save his job and McNair probalby wont be there to mentor Young, so I dont think they will. I also think that getting Young over Leinart will be a mistake, considering Chow has coached Leinart before and I think Leinart will be like Manning years from now. Remeber, Manning also doesnt have the strongest arms and neither does Brady. And you can get stronger. Young isnt ready to play for another couple of years.
I wouldnt be surpraised if it's Bush though.

NFL Draft 2006

Any opinions???

Bush going to the Saints is great for the city, but BAD for fantasy football players.

Bush's situation will be the same as Cedric Benson's in Chicago, where he shared carries with Thomas Jones.

Bush will share carries with Deuce McCallister and not be the dominate player he should be. Too bad. It would have been great to see Bush on the Jets.

Leinart with the Cardinals is the BEST place for him to be. He has Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, and Edge James for weapons. He also has, as a mentor, MVP Kurt Warner to learn from. He will be an awesome QB in years to come.

Vince Young will eventually be the new Steve McNair, but not for a few years.

What do you say???

Dude, check out the NFL Discussion Thread. They'res more talk of the draft.

Arizona's gonna put it together one of these years, possibly this year. All they need is a defense now...their offense is downright scary. Kurt Warner's still got some game in him and Leinhart will come along eventually too. And Edgerrin James will tear that division up, almost as much as Shaun Alexander's been doing. They're about 2 good defensive signings away from being a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

...imo, at least.

Go Steelers. 😛

Never know.

Just watching the draft coverage, and I have to say New England is doing pretty well

Donte Whitner at 8 was a huge strech.
What was KC thinking of getting Hali at that pick.
Cowboys did well with Carpenter.
One thing that gets me though is all the analysts talking about Leinart's arm strength. It somewhat pisses me off. How many times have we seen an QB get drafted really early that has amazing arm strength and then fail in the NFL because they cant read safeties.
How many times have we seen an QB with questionable arm strength win an superbowl. Brady isnt the strongest but he has 3 of them.

Agreed. Kyle Boller can throw it 60 yards from his knees and he sucks the big one.

And Joe Montana had arm-strength issues. Of course, it doesn't hurt (John Elway, Brett Favre, etc.) but it's not always necessary.

And I love how my Steelers got the best receiver in the draft (not saying much, I realize) and another guy to help the return game. Bill Cowher = former special teams coach, and it showed. But without a huge flaw on the team, that little stuff will help tremendously.

....

Speaking of football, I realize it's a long way off yet, but has anyone ever set up a KMC fantasy football league (or fantasy anything). It would have to be for just bragging rights, not money, but might be cool as hell.

...ending the random thoughts now...

sorry but im not buying the best WR in the draft part, NE got him Chad Jackson is a nice big target i really like him over holmes.

AZ actually has a better D than a lot of people think, at least statisticly speaking. getting the O-line from USC was also a nice move they had a great draft.

This draft was farily goofy overall, i think a lot of very good players were allowed to slide down lower than they need to be, and theres still some nice ones like KO Simpson.

Easily.
Maybe Dallas can pull a deal and get Giles or something.... that all we need is a back up guard, and a WR... and maybe a FS.

Worst pick of the draft is Donte Whitner....way too early and Buffalo could of easily gotten him after 15-25 pick.

Digi, I was thinking of setting up a system for predictions like what Botunkus and I did last year. I'll keep a record of everbody picks and at the end of the season, we'll see who predicted the most, including MVP, Rookie, DOTY, and leading rusher.
What does everybody think?
Maybe, whoever the last place person is has to put an image below thier name that everybody agrees too.

( I know its too early, but I think it would work out better than an fantasy league, they somehow never work out on KMC)

who is it that you think is going to super bowl

i got money on baltimore, cowboys, steelers, eagles, or patriots, oh yeah and maybe the colts (baltimore is the least likely)

you actually put money on all of them? and try this in the NFL thread please

With the exception of Baltimore, those are likely possibilities.

Arizona. Pittsburgh.

^are you kidding Arizona wont even make the playoffs, and Pitt I am pretty sure they won't, they lost too many key players. They did have a good draft, but rookies cant carry a team. The teams I think may make it

Redskins
Seahawks
Eagles(maybe, thats a big maybe)
Colts
Chiefs
Chargers

nhl discussion.merging

philly is a stretch i think cause the NFC east is amazing right now, pitt may be a stretch but they are in a fairly weak division gonna depend on if palmer is healthy and if boller finnaly puts it all together. Chargers are also a big stretch cause they have a rookie QB. Patriots im iffy on as well, Jets will be better than last year through the draft and from just being healthy, also the Dolphins are coming off a very good year with an even better team.

Honestly, yeah, I like Zona's chances better than Washington or Phili. Two great receivers, Edgerrin James, Kurt Warner's a competent QB until Leinhart's ready to step in (probably next season). And Denny Green, who knows how to score points. So the offense should rock. And they're in the NFC, so even a decent defense will get them into the playoffs and within striking distance at a Super Bowl birth.

Seattle still has to be a favorite in that divison/conference. But watch out. 😖hifty:

And who did Pittsburgh lose? Bettis and Randle El. Bettis was old, slow, and only effective in goalline situations last season. With Duce, Parker, and Haynes, they'll be fine. And they replaced Randle El with Santonio Holmes. A rookie, sure, but he only has to be a #2 receiver on a run-first squad...they're not asking him to carry the team. They have as much chance as any...and have to be among the favorites along with Indy and NE.

And I agree the Chiefs will be good, but who honestly thinks Phillip Rivers can lead SD to a title?
