The redskins really stacked their team this year, but I am skeptical of Brunells ability to stay healthy and play well long enough to get them to the superbowl.

I cant see NE doing it at all. That division is getting better.

Redskins I can see but that division is the toughest in the league (IMO).

I think the Cowboys have a good chance if they can protect Bledsoe and Jones has games like he had against the Panthers (200 yards). But they're defence is going to be excellent with really good depth (expect at FS. Their offence is going to great.

Titans finally traded McNair to the Ravens today.

Yeah.

What did they give up?
I couldnt find anything.

I love how this thread gets zero responses until like Augest. It's amazing.

they gave up a 4th round pick, and his deal here in bmore is much more cap friendly hes only gettin 1 million base, but huge bonus and incentive type of stuff.

Yea a lot of people dont follow the sport enough to talk about anything in the off season

Yeah.

But if I say the Colt's are the best....we could atleast get Mr.Parker in here talking about how to beat Manning in a game, by using one game as evidence and consistently use it for every arguement. Hahaha.

I dont know about McNair though. It's a great pickup for the Ravens, but I dont think he will be the same.

But this atleast tells you that Fisher is seriously on the hotseat though. At the draft, everybody was saying that Young will be drafted because of McNair being his tutor. But I guess thats not the case. If the Titans dont do so well, I think the coaching staff is done.

yea i htink fisher is out, and im not sure about mcnair at all. Boller isnt gonna get the job done though, maybe now that theres a serious competitor he will step up? Does bring McNair and Mason back together though.

Oh definitly.

For the Ravens, it's a great pick up. No doubt about it.

Yeah, one game all right. A non-first round NFL playoff game...that's the one game.

As far as McNair goes, I hate to see him leave the Titans, especially for Baltisore. If it were any other team, maybe I could justify the will to continue. The Titans probably had a legal reason for keeping him off the practice field to limit injury, but that's moot now.

Point is, he did a great many things for that franchise for so long, and I know he's not ready to retire - and that's fine - but for the sake of preservation I'd recommend putting a blindfold on each time the Ravens take the field. Hell, the team does, so you may as well do, too.

well they wouldnt let him into the training facilities because if he got hurt, they were wasting tons of money, because he had a HUGE contract there that was killing their salary cap.

Oh come on, it was a joke. hahaha.

I cant believe that the Ravens only gave an 4th round though. I would think that some teams would be atleast be interested.

they really wanted to unload his contract, and he doesnt have a lot of time left so i guess you take whatever you can get at that point.

meant to post this earlier but i forgot.

Big Ben in serious condition after motorcycle accident

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2480830

They're supposed to have a press conference this afternoon. Hope it's good news.

Wow, riding without a helmet. Very smart. Even more smart than the state amended the helment law.
Yesh.

What's your take on him being able to ride an motercycle or not while he is under contract from the Steelers?

Should he be able to ride or not?

Yes, but in the offseason with his helmet on...and absolutely no speeding or tricks (he doesn't do either, anyway). I don't feel it's the organization's responbility to baby him, but you gotta draw the line somewhere, man.

It's a tough dilemma.
If he cant play, the pretty much destroy's thier chance of another Superbowl.

But really, why didnt he where his helmet....hmm motercycle, hard pavement, no protection doesnt sound like a great idea.

In 2003 the state of Pennsylvania retracted its mandatory motorcycle helmet laws. They changed it to optional if you were at least 21 and had a motorcycle license and taken a course.

Roethlisberger had an expired learner's permit, so he didn't even qualify for Optional Status.

i think its fine to put it in the contract, but i dont think the contract should say you cant do it, i think it should say if you do it and are injured and cant play, you forfit your ENTIRE contract hell maybe even add a fee they owe you to really make them think about their priorities.

A helmet wouldnt of done a ton of good in this situation either, assuming hed just wear a turtle shell type helmet and not a full one pretty much no one that rides chopers and harleys wheres a full helmet. The most serious injuries (broken jaw, nose, teeth and such) would have still occured. But yea it wasnt smart either way.

overall hes really lucky to first be alive, and second not have any injuries that are going to have any real permanent effect on him.

also this just in, the pittsburgh police (using review from the NFL referees) have just given the seahawks a ticket for reckless driving causing big ben to wreck

I thought they were ticketed for reckless whining.
