Smell the Ashes
CFL game is much different game than the NFL game.
Three downs makes passing more important thus making rushing a secondary option.
Also, the guy hasnt played an game since last year, and just recently started training about 3 weeks ago so he is a little bit rusty.
I watched the game today and I noticed a few things.
1. Hamilton played defense against Ricky Williams, so every time he touched the ball, he had atleast 2 defenders blanketing him. I dont care how good you are, your going to tackeled for loss a few times.
2. Toronto's O-line was abysmal so like I said before, he had to evade a few guys after hitting the line.
3. He was used as an decoy in the first half, thus the low carries
4. He had 130 total yards recieving and rushing which is a very good number for an CFL game. Remember, this is the CFL, so stats will be a bit different than NFL.
5. Williams is leading rusher in the CFL right now with 97. Goes to show you that rushing isnt a very viable option in the CFL.
From what I saw, Williams was explosive and powerful. Once he got going, he was typical Williams. I think it's kinda of ridiculous to make fun of the guy for playing in the CFL. It's not that bad of an league, and he didnt **** it up for the Dolphins. He made some bad choices in his career, which alot of people do in the real world, and he got punished for it. But what would the Dolphins rather have?
A guy who plays football in another league and gets into top shape and atleast plays competive football.
Or a guy who doesnt play football all year, and probalby go back into that same rut?
