I hardly think it matters if the source is old, when it is the most important character defining story about him that there is. When someone wants to learn about Wolverine they read Weapon X. It's like the bible to Wolverine fans.
Even writers writing the book now (Daniel Way) have said that Weapon X was the book they all read before they even touched the character. It's required reading.
And it came out in the 1980's. It's really not that long ago.

Yes and my point is if its the bible he isn't written that way consistently. The 80's is 20 years and Wolverine has had alot of showings. If its been said one time and its not something thats been maintained thats not his "norm."

as for his senses.... the guy's proven it WAYYYYY to often.. here he help kick rogue out of the way of an oncoming lazer because he senses it before it even fires...

2) Wolverine writers have only ever said he was the best there is at what he does. ie, fighting, being an assassin, a killer. And considering he has a century of experience over just about every other assassin/fighter in the Marvel U, it's a pretty valid claim in my opinion.
It's true in a HUGE sense. I hardly ever see a Wolverine or Hulk art where they do things that are basically just there to up the mythos.

Him saving Storm from Cyclops' optic blast from behind WITHOUT LOOKING also comes to mind.
I'm pretty sure both laser and Cyclops' blast are faster than bullets.

actually I still have to finish them.. I picked them up at the end of last summer.. and got halfway through them before school and work took over my life... so far the books are great, they go into a lot of scientific detail that explains how wolverine's adamantium process works, how his bones don't become brittle underneath the admantium and how his healing factor compensates etc etc.. they used an M.D. to get all the scientific details on biology for the book to make sense.. it's actually a good read.
they're just called weapon x...
