Also, am I the only one who thinks that FF XIII blows God of War III out of the water, graphics wise? I've been debating this with a few friends who go in GOW favor. I disagree. The graphics in FF XIII, to me, are a new standard.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were. Kratos' character model alone trumps what most FF games have in their entirety. Forget the superior art direction and character animations, the latter of which, in no judgement to FFXIII's quality as a whole, borderline on being utterly dreadful in this game (but in retrospect, a majority of JRPG games have stiff and/or sub-par character animations). FFXIII might be a new standard on a technical level among the traits typical of modern Square Enix games (and that's necessarily a good thing), but among the gaming medium as a whole? Not quite. Having more well-rendered hair doesn't help with it either.

Since I don't have a PS3 and probably won't get one, I'm more excited for FF Agito XIII.

That one song is starting to piss me off.

what one song?

the battle theme?
My brother has it as his ringtone, I don't hate it one bit... yet

or do you mean the other one which has multiple versions?

He probably means the my hands theme.

Never understood why they chose that.

By the way....What is the matrix? 🤨

I thought you only heard that one at the ending, so you don't constantly have to hear it

btw: I still like My Hands and the Battle Theme rocks 😐

FF needs to just stick with in house original music. Outsourcing generic pop songs for the ending theme is just lazy. In prior games some of the most memorable original tracks were the ending themes. In XIII, it was just distractingly cheesy.

Agreed. FFVIII is the one that springs to mind instantly.

Agreed.

To be honest I don't see any difference in choosing an already produced song for the theme

but that's just me 😬

Well, music has been an important part of the Final Fantasy series from the 1st game way back on the NES. It's not even just FF games it's all RPGs, music is of paramount importance. Having an unoriginal pop song in the credits really doesn't give you the same feel as a piece of music composed specifically for the game.

Final Fantasy soundtracks have always been brilliant and for the most part FFXIII's doesn't disappoint however the Leona Lewis song is very much a negative.

I do believe that music has really taken a hit in the latest games. Losing Nobou as composer has hurt them... Not to mention doing away with the fanfare. I don't imagine anyone was happy when they finished their 1st battle on FFXIII and didn't hear a satisfying sound of "da, da, da, daa, duh, da, da, da, daa"

the absence of fanfare does bother me.

Overall I like FFXIII music 😄

Overall I do too. The battle theme didn't get annoying although is not memorable. The map music (if you can call it a map) is generally very good. And the end boss music I like a lot.

Sancty just started playing that. It seems pretty stupid. What's up with the immensely stupid one liners? Is the dialogue going to get better?

Welcome to japanese story telling.

Seems the powers that be aren't happy with how this went.

FF XIII is, in my opinion, one of the weaker entries for the series. However, that doesn't mean that it isn't a remarkable game. My only gripe was that the game is too linear. There was hardly any exploration, rather just go to Point A to Point B to Point C, etc.

FF XIII reminded me of Go Right flashgame.
