It's really not my fault that you're failing at something that some others don't have as much trouble on. In fact, it's very pretentious of you to assume that just because you are having trouble with something, everyone else should too, and if they don't they're lying or mistaken.
1) That glowing center has to come out. Shooting a magnum shot wouldn't do shit on vet if it was your first shot.
Hence the point of "watching your back". Reapers move slow as hell. If you don't get backed into a wall or a corner then you just need to dance out of their range until the gold weak spot shows up. Again, panicking only gets you killed.
Where this magnum ammo coming from anyway? On vet, you get 6 bullets in the gun and we saw 6 magnum bullets TOTAL, later.
When you upgrade the ammo capacity on any gun, it automatically refills the clip in your gun completely. Come on man, you never noticed>
2) Accurate shooting - if you miss for more than two seconds or happen to be reloading with your partner, you basically just started over. [/quote]
Then learn to aim well. It's called "Veteran", for a reason. If you're skills are sub par, play on a lower difficulty.
The sniper is waaaaaaaaaaaaay to slow. My sniper was upgraded for power as far as possible and it wasn't not working quickly enough even with my roommate using his grenade rounds.
Aim faster. Get distance. Don't ever stop until you have plenty of room. When the two reapers first go toward you there is a ladder directly to your right, go down the ladder and camp on the other side of the pit from it with either your rifle or your magnum. If you miss or you run out of room, circle around the reaper, giving it a wide berth (Which may involve you letting it get close to you so that it can't pincher you against a wall), and go back UP the ladder. This back and fourth style of playing is how I beat the reapers the first time you fight them and the second time when there's two at once.
Once you figure out how the AI behaves you can screw with almost any boss character. Fun fact: When my friend and I fought Wesker on veteran, the part where you have the RPG, we killed him. It's actually possible. If you shoot him enough times with regular ammo he'll fall to the floor on his knees, then you automatically lose.
So, yeah. It's not impossible.
