Resident Evil 5 is an action game true but that doesn't diminish the game at all IMO, it's still a fantastic game regardless that it's lost the horror aspect of previous games.

Meaning that the reviews have lessened the must buy status of the RE5, and being over 70 bucks does not help that.I might just rent it.
Their is a lot of replay value in the game buying all the figurines and costumes etc, but it's a shame to see that you pay that much only for Capcom to charge an extra $5 for a multiplayer mode.

I meant to say FPS, sorry. That's pretty crazy. She only died one time against Wesker when I fought him.
Well, it's not a fair comparison, so, yeah. And it does matter. The AI in those games are not very smart if you take into consideration that all they do is point and shoot. They don't walk into enemy fire because half of those games you listed, more than half, involve a cover system, and so the AI is scripted to just go behind cover and fire from it at the enemy, whch is exactly what Sheva does, the difference being that 90% of the game you don't have cover so you're just out there.
In GRAW, Mass Effect, Rainbow Six, and Halo 3, my AI men would get gunned down in only a couple of minutes if we were in an environment where there was no cover... they did the exact same dumb things like walking into enemy fire and the like. So, it's hard for me to see your point.
I'm not saying you're lying, just that I've had different experiences.
It's perfectly fair. Smart AI is smart AI, it doesn't matter the type of game. If the AI partner doesn't hinder the gameplay experience at all, then it's better than Sheva in RE5 because at times she DID hinder the experience. The player was actively punished because the designer made Sheva prone to do stupid things like walk into a boss and kill herself.
My point is spectacularly simple - that Sheva's AI was not impressive, it was decent.
Your point that your AI partners in some of those games die at times isn't relevant because when they die the game doesn't end. When Sheva does something stupid the game is over, the player is punished for their poor design. The real problem is that with RE5 if your partner dies, that's it, game over. In making that design choice the devs end up putting themselves into a corner, they HAVE to make their AI buddy better than most of the rest - a lot better - because more depends on the buddy than it does in a game where the AI is expendable.

By letting me get smashed and shot and beaten 😛
Anyhow, I hope me getting "Take it to the Max" last night was worth it, because right now, I still only have infinite ammo for my first pistol, shotgun, and machine gun (a lot of those other guns I maxed out, I probably won't be using anyway). Gathering the points needed to unlock infinite ammo mode for the other weapons seems like a drag. Not to mention, the one you recommended getting unlimited ammo on (the hawk Magnum or whatever) seems to be one of the ones that cost the most points. 😬
Ah well. I suppose getting infinite ammo on that will make it all the more rewarding in the end, eh? Will still have to keep in mind about the Magnum not being very accurate, though.

You let reviews influence your opinion of the game?
Opinion means that I think the game sucks, or is great by reading reviews. But I let reviews come into play on the basis if I should buy right away, or let it come down in price, or rent it. Especially if the game will cost me 80 bucks and I might not enjoy it as much as RE4.
I might pick it up anyways but after finding out that the game is 70 dollars, plus tax and there is mixed reviews, I'm now hesitant in putting down that cash right away.
