Smas. Rent the game. If all you're interested in is beating it you can do so with a rental - it's about half the length of RE4.

If then you decide that you liked it enough to really get into and do all the extra stuff, then buy it.

I was thinking that.

Say would you guys say this is only worth a rental?

Couple of friends have told me to just rent or borrow the game.

I'd say it was a buy myself, just a shame about the multiplayer modes.

So how did Jill become so strong?

Obviously Wesker has done more than control her.

Well yeah that is obvious. I was just wondering if it was explained.

Spoiler:
The chemical Wesker uses to control Jill enhances her strength and agility, as well. Pretty simple.

Yathzee reviews RE 5 this week: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/624-Resident-Evil-5

H ebrought up a point about the inventory system I had forgotten about RE 4, that items actualy had sizes and you could only carry so and so much, odd I havent seen that anywhere else.

It was actually rather inventive and unique. I enjoyed it. Not seem similar since, though.

Most of the minor things such as Jill's strength/agility upgrades are addressed in the specific character files under the file section, or just hidden in the documents spread around the game.

Also I have no unlocked everything in the game and finished it on the hardest mode.

So I just bought the game yesterday and I have to say I'm pretty dissapointed. I've always heard awesome things about all of the RE games, especially 4 so I figured I'd go out and buy this one.

The game looks gorgeous but thats just about its only strong point. What about gameplay??? You do the same thing over and over and over again. Run away from zombie, turn around, headshot, repeat. I've only gotten up to the chainsaw boss (which was a royal pain in the ass) so I'm not going to lose all hope yet... but damn

Beat the game. Come back later.

Eh, gameplay is all right in it from what I played. It's obviously different, and somewhat annoying in my opinion. However I appreciate that they did something different better than going around mindlessly shooting zombies, if you were looking for that best to just go play Left 4 dead.

Just beat the big giant guy. That whole chapter was actually a lot of fun and reminded me of gears of war.

by the way NAzi zombies > RE5 > Left for dead

so far at least

Killed Irving today.

Was fun lolz.

Also tried co-op on Mercenaries, first level.

My partner is the one who owns the game, yet could not stop getting raped by the Executioner. 😐

Me too. Like I said, I apparently overestimated how hard Professional would be for the most part, but the end of 5-3 on pro was still a royal pain in the ass.

Still can't get over the Jill acting like Catwoman thing with the way she runs up walls, hisses at you, and has that cat-like stance when you get close to her (not to mention how tiny she is when playing as her in the battle suit on mercenaries). Then there's that thing with Wesker's hair that you pointed out. 😛 I really do wonder where he gets his gell, as his hair always stays in the same place/shape, even after he's fused with the Uroboros, and when he's burning in lava...

Speaking of which, I still laugh at the time when we beat 6-3 together for the first time. After Chris and Sheva grabbed onto the ladder of the helicopter, I just assumed it was over and put my controller down to sit back and watch the cut-scene, but when Wesker suddenly started pulling onto the helicopter, I wasn't able to press LT and RT together for that quick-time event until it was too late. Then I facepalmed. Funny how something like that has to happen right at the very end of the game. 😂
Nice sig by the way. 👆

A friend and I beat Wesker yesterday in 5-3 on Veteran. As in actually damaged him enough to earn the Heart of Africa. It was kind of fun taking turns distracting him so the other could get the drop on him.

Of course, to really brag, we have to do it again on Pro once that's unlocked.

True, though if you or a friend has the infinite Rocket Launcher for beating the whole game straight (on any difficulty) in under 5 hours, you or your partner can keep blasting him until it triggers the last cut-scene with them escaping, and thus, you'll skip some parts with fighting him. I was using Sheva when that happened, and I didn't even have to get past the part where you pull yourself up so you won't fall in the lava. I'm horrible at button mashing the X button anyway, so it was quite fortunate.

Psh, infinite rocket launchers are cheap.

He had the Gatling Gun and I had an infinite Handcannon.

Yeah, I didn't bother to get infinite Rocket Launcher myself. I use infinite T-hawk magnum though instead of the handcannon (that's the S&W M500 right?) because of the better firing range.
