i've only played like the first 5 or 10 mins. of my copy of RE:5 and i've had it from it's lauch date.
But there's just something about the game.
Like i played the demo and really liked it and got into it but i just haven't gotten into it with the retail game. The thing is, is that i want to get into it, it looks fun and the graphics are gorgeous but, i just don't know what it is about it.
maybe it's too slow paced from what i'm normally used to, or because the gameplay is still the same way RE:1 was and i don't like playing outdated games on new tech systems or because i haven't played part 4 and don't know what's going on in the story. I haven't played since part 2 actually.
from time to time i even regret getting the game.
i know the things i don't like about the game are the fact that you can't run and gun and the inventory system that makes you pause in the middle of action. I find it hard to move around as well.
i dunno. i'm gonna give it a shot and try with all my heart to play and get into it.
The gameplay isn't at all like the first! Over the shoulder and manual aiming were never a part of Resident evil 1 to code's gameplay style.
As for 4 well it is perhaps the only main series game you don't need to play in order to get the story, sure it does add in a few elements but it's not part of the "Chris/Umbrella" arc like the other games. As for pausing the action for the menu I suggest placing all your primary items in the hot key sections, that way you can select them with ease without really breaking up the action; I like the style of an in game menu makes you think more about where and when to open it up and use it.
It may feel a bit strange at first but give it time, luckily I had been playing Dead Space before buying RES 5 and the control and menu screens feel very similar, I suggest playing it in more depth if you don't feel right at around the 3rd chapter then maybe it's not a game for you.
Okay, I'm getting tired of all the bitching about the DLC for this game now, and it's not just this site I've seen it on (more like everywhere). I understand the complaints about Capcom charging us and all, but if you're not going to get it, just shut the **** up instead of ruining it for everyone else.

DLC?
DLC = downloadable content
Or in this case, the versus mode for RE5.
But yeah, was just saying that people need to give a rest about the whole Capcom charging us thing already (at least now that it's been out for awhile). I try to find people who want to play it with me, but instead I just see endless complaining about the price for the most part. 🙁
Thanks everyone. 😐

Yeah, you might have to play more than 10 minutes of it.
Shocking, huh?

Yea, I went ahead and played it for aproximately 6hrs11mins str8.
I like it. I found it more engagin than fun and it still slower paced thab what i'm use to but I am into it now. i'm gonna give it another turn now. I got to act 3 and turned it off.
that hummer/motorcyle chase just before A.3 was crazy!
the part that took me a while was with that giat flying roach bat monster. it took me a few tries to figure out how to defeat the creature. I even tried cutting it after I dumped all I had on it face the it figure out the weakness. but so far I give the game a 7/10. it's pace is something i'm gonna get used to.

Well i played the demo all the way through. A couple of times. So i played the game for more than 10mins in total, including the demo, at first. I would've thought someone of your caliber would've figured that out.
I just didn't get into the full game for some unknown reason. I do like it now. I don't really die to play it like i would a game like "BF2" (online), or "Crysis", or (player vS player) "SF4" or "GTA4: Lost and Damned" (single player). But i'm not longer hesitant when thinking about playing it.
I dunno, i felt that RE:5 had a stiffness to it.
