i would agree with you if it was any other character, but i have a very strong feeling we will see yoshi in this game for 2 reasons
1. Yoshi has been in the past 3 main mario games, SMW SM64 and SMS
2. At the end of one of the videos on the japanese site (ill look for it now) there is a flash of a yoshi egg shaped planet looking thing, where im sure mario will be able to shoot to
and im not saying that he will be a huge, playable role
but i definitely think he will be in the game for sure

so its safe to assume that yoshi will at least make a cameo in this game
ive got my money on a yoshi based planet that is inhabited purely by yoshis
and i do not think luigi will be in this game
again, all opinions so dont freak out or anything
Actually, Luigi at least makes a cameo in the game, he is in a video very briefly. gimme time to find it though. Yoshi on the other hand is unconfirmed, we've seen nothing of him (them/it).
